forever and ever (i wish)

"no, i don't."

she looks surprised but nods anyways, she doesn't bring it up again. she reaches for my hand and holds it with a loose grip.

"we'll be friends forever, right?"

- and she looks so hopeful, so happy and in that moment i forget my actual intentions.

"forever and ever, soohyeon."

her laugh is soft and i feel a lump forming in my throat.

i decide that i'll make the most of our time together.

"crap, sungjae told me to be home by eight- i'm going to go-"

i interrupt her with a kiss, which is rude but she doesn't seem to mind.

instead she giggles and hops off my kitchen counter,
wth a soft smile and a goodbye she leaves me.

and now it's four am and i can't wrap my head around why yook soohyeon is in my mind and why i keep thinking of what it would be like to be her forever.

i'm interrupted by my phone buzzing and carelessly i unlock the screen just to see exactly what i would've wanted three months ago.

'i'm sorry yerim, can we meet up? -sooyoung.'

but it's not what i want right now.
