October fourth 2009
It was 12pm on Friday the fourth, it was sunny again. Mr.Gem sat at his desk and wrote down what the anonymous messenger told him over the phone, he gets up and starts walking around his room to figure it out. He had 4 hours until he goes into a coffin, until then just three hours later he snapped his fingers and said,
"Aha,I have figured it out!!!" He grabs his coat and keys and he tells his wife he'll be home later. About 30 minutes later he arrives at the Public Library because the clue said "Go to a place that's hard and quiet" aka the library but he doesn't know where to look so he decided that the fun part might be in the kids section. So Mr. Gem goes to the kids section and then a woman pops up and asks:
"Can I help you with something?"
"Yeah actually do you know what the top kids book was read and checked out?"
"Um...Yes sir that would be this one, it's full of fun for kids!"
"Perfect." He sits down and opens the book then his cellphone rings"
"Wow you are such a smart Alec" It was the anonymous messenger
"What's my next clue?" He laughs
"What's so funny?"
"Oh Mr.Gem. You think I'm an idiot."
"No I do not"
"You really think you're a smart ass huh? So try to figure this out."
"Hit me"
"Neest tr23 locinL
"What in the world."
"What's the matter Mr. Gem? Are you smart" Just before he could defend himself the line clicked dead. Mr.Gem gets in his car and goes to the Coffee Shop right around the corner to think about this clue.
"Goddamn it.What the hell does Neest tr23 locinL mean!?" He thinks for about 40 minutes until then he decides to look it up so he goes to one of the computers in the coffee shop and the waitress comes over and hands him his light coffee with whipped cream but she couldn't help noticing what he's searching.
"Um excuse me sir, I'm sorry for snooping but those letters and numbers are mixed up."
"I know that."
"That 23 looks so familiar try looking up any streets with that 23 in it."
"Holy crap! You're right thank you so much." Mr.Gem goes and looks up any streets around him or throughout Tennessee with 23 in it.
"Hell yeah I found it, 23 Lincoln Street just an hour from here!" He quickly pays for his drink and runs to his car.
