Chapter 1- The result!
It was the last day of term and there was tension in the air. It was the day that Annie found out whether or not she had passed her A levels. Suddenly a booming voice on the tanoy called her friend Kyle. Kyle started to tremble as he advanced to the headteachers office. It was Annie's turn next. Her heart started to beat at an unbelievable pace as she thought about the possibility of failure. Just then, with no warning, Annie's name was announced, and a second later kyle came out with a grin the size of Manhattan! His bright blue eyes sparkled like the reflection of the sun on the still sea. She could tell he had done it, and with great success. Annie hesitantly headed to Mr Forester's office door, grasped hold of the knob and timidly twisted it. Mr Forester leaned over his big puffy chair and stared at her! Annie felt like she was about to be sick. Mr Forester always had a wide smile on his face when talking with Annie, since she was his favourite pupil, but this time his old, tired eyes told otherwise.
" Oh, hello Annie" Mr Forester said in croaky voice.
" Hello Sir."
"Annie can i say that you did...
There was a long pause as Mr Forester was about to convey Annie's result at last.
"... Amazingly."
"Amazing sir, you sure?" Annie said with such confusion.
" Yes I am sure." Mr Forester said with a calming smile.
Annie's brain was comprehending what she had just heard and after about 2 minutes of silence, she finally conjured up a sentence.
" I'm sorry, I did not catch that Annie." Mr Forester said.
" I said I am amazed I did so well. Can I see my result now please?" Annie said in a mousey voice!
"Of course you can Annie." Mr Forester leaned down to his right and picked up a sheet of A4 paper.
"Here we go Annie. "
Annie took hold of the paper with such care, as if all hell would break loose if she did even the slightest thing to it.
She'd done it!
