NEW HOME

Be thankful for what you get,
because you could lose it very quickly, I wish my mom didn't die, I wished I hadn't survived, but I'm thankful I'm still here, but probably not for long....

I woke up with a jolt, another nightmare. I have been getting these since we got here ,and that was two days ago. I got up and went to the bath room, I rinsed my face off with some cold water. School started today and truthfully, I wasn't looking forward to it. 6 hours until I have to be up, why not go for a late night walk. I got some clothes on and walked along the road, Michigan is beautiful in the dark. I kept on walking until I realized something, I was lost. I had my phone but I didn't want to call my dad. I just sat down on a log and looked down. Why was life so hard, I mean I love having a new home, getting a fresh start, but I just wish things were the way they were when mom was here. " Couldn't sleep either?" I jumped a little as I heard a soft voice say. I looked up and saw a short figure in a hoodie and some sweatpants. " Yeah". " Do you wanna a friend to sit with or be alone in pure darkness?" She asked. I smiled slightly and moved over. She sat down next to me, I couldn't see her face, so I guess she couldn't see mine. " Is the reason you can't sleep nightmares or family problems?" She asked kinda quite. I looked at her, how'd she know. " How d..did you know?" I asked still not fluent in English. " Not my first night on a walk". We sat in silence, but she started laughing. "You know what's funny?" She asked chuckling. I gave her a confused look but she couldn't see it. " What"? " We've been sitting here for about ten minutes and yet neither of us no each others name!" Suddenly it hit me, I didn't know her name. It was quiet for a minute, until I said it, " Jimin" I said holding my hand out, " Monica" she said gladly taking it. I let go, my hand felt cold, I wish I could hold her hand longer. " Do you live close?" She asked. " Yeah, but I got lost". " I can see why you don't wanna call your parents", " Do you know what way you came from?" She asked. I pointed left. " Come on let's find your house" she said grabbing my hand and pulling me up with a lot of force, damn she's strong. We walked and walked. I didn't realize I was that far from home. " You walked really far, you must have been out of it" she said sounding amazed. We walked to my front door, "my aunt lives around her somewhere" she said. This girl is random, I like it. " Well Jimin, nice to meet you, probably see you in school, if you are still in school"! She said laughing. " Yeah I am" I said laughing. " Well bye" she said walking off. As I walked in the door a sudden realization hit me, I made my first friend.
