The next day I dreaded waking up. I barely got any sleep from thinking about everything that happened after school. I didn't know if I just thought he was flirting or if he was actually flirting. Maybe in my mind things were different than in reality. Maybe.
I put my hair in a high bun with a few strands hanging near my face. I wore a white tee tucked into my navy blue jeans with a cute leather belt. I put on my usual creamy foundation and mascara, and then headed downstairs.
Sadly, I wasn't the only one awake at 7:30. My mom and little sister Kate were sitting on the kitchen island stools. Kate noticed me coming and smiled.
"Morning," I said.
"Good morning," my mom, dressed in her classy attorney suit looked up at me. "Did you sleep well?"
"Yeah." I lied, and picked up an apple from the basket on the counter. I rinsed it under some cool water and took a bite.
"I'd love to drive you, but I gotta take Kate and then go straight to my office." she told me.
"It's fine." I repeated the two words that I barely ever meant.
Kate was in the third grade. She is pretty much almost identical to the younger me, but she has freckles around her nose and a lighter shade of brown eyes. Class begins at 8:40 for her, but her elementary is closer than my school. My mom, Joanne Brown--the lawyer with two kids she's never home for--only goes to work this early on Tuesdays. On every other day besides her breaks on Saturday, she sleeps in. I don't mind taking the public bus though since Lindsey's house is close and we meet up at the same bus stop at 8. I only had a few more months with my learner's until I could go for my own licence.
"I don't feel good." Kate spoke with pleading eyes.
She zipped her Hannah Montana lunch kit up and chuckled. "Nice try."
"But.." she then sighed and stepped down on the ground from the stool.
"Don't forget to lock up when you leave, Ell." my mom reminded me. "Let's go Kate."
"Have a nice day," Kate hugged me, her head bumping into my chest.
"You too, girl."
Once they left and I watched the white KIA get out of the driveway, I sighed. It was a morning that I wasn't in the mood for talking to anyone. Sometimes I'd rather be alone, but other times I'd rather be around people so my thoughts couldn't torture me.
"This is gonna be a long day.." I sighed.

"You okay?" Beth asked me in the girls locker room.
I changed into my blue shirt over my gym shorts. "Yeah, why?"
"You just seem zoned out today," she laughed a little.
"I'm alright." I laughed, shaking it off.
Us four walked out into the gym and I looked at Mr. Jefferson entering in with a notebook in his hand. Most of the other students were still changing so there weren't that many people ready yet, besides Sydney and Jaylene. The two biggest bitches in this school, possibly. They were the ones who dated almost every guy last year, the ones who get drunk every night and brag about it aloud in class like everyone cares. Yeah, I went to parties here and there, but I wasn't that annoying girl everyone hated.
I stood in the gym where our class always sat until the teacher did attendance. Mr. J opened up his notebook and then looked around until he made eye-contact with at me.
"Good morning, dear." he smiled lightly.
I blinked once before beaming back at him. "Hi."
"How are you?"
"I'm good, how are you?"
"Not bad." he replied.
I nodded my head and then looked down at the space between us. Lindsey stood beside me and the girls were chatting about what they were dressing up as for Halloween which was only two weeks away.
I completely dissolved into my own train of sick thoughts.
"You know the things I'd do to you in that?" he took a few steps towards me, with a wide smirk on his face.
"Show, don't tell." I let my eyes travel from his own down to his belt, and then back up.
He stared at my revealing police woman outfit. I bit on my bottom lip and waited impatiently as our bodies inched closer together. His hand slowly slid around my waist and I could feel his warm breath on my lips before he--
"You there?" I looked up to see Mr. J standing and chuckling.
The only thing that I could get out of my throat was "Hmm?"
He looked into my clueless eyes and warmly smiled. "Everyone else is standing on the red lines getting ready for warmup, except you."
~
The indoor soccer unit was my least favourite. It was either because hockey was the only sport I actually liked, or because I sucked at soccer. The best part about living in Toronto were all the hockey crazed fans--especially those who cheered on the Maple Leafs. Possibly the only thing Mr. J and I had in common was our love for the Canadian sport.
When the bell rung for sixth period, everyone headed for their separate classes. Lindsey and I both went in the same direction to the Foods room.
"Sydney and Jason are dating, did you hear?" she told me with a grin on her face.
I shook my head and laughed. "Not even surprised."
"I give 'em a week." she replied.
"A week?" I raised an eyebrow. "I give them a day."
She laughed and sighed, "You haven't liked a guy in forever, you know."
"It's been like five months." I commented with a little chuckle.
"Tyler was an idiot." she spoke the truth.
Tyler Edison. Ty. Captain of our schools hockey club; the Riverbank Wolves. He lead me on for months by flirting and touching me and messaging me and then one day, we were sitting in the hallway working on an assignment in English when he said, "Who do you like?" I looked at him with a smile and said "It's obvious," to which he had responded with "Me?" and I nodded, only to receive a cold "Oh....uh, I'm sorry but I only think of you as a classmate."
Lindsey put her stuff down at our desks. "So you really don't like anyone right now?"
She was my closest friend, but I hadn't even told her about the events with Mr. J lately. It's not like I didn't trust her--because I really did--but I didn't want her to secretly think of me as a home-wrecker, or slut, or obsessed teen. That's the last thing I needed. Maybe one day I'd tell her, if there was anything worth telling. "I really don't."
That class we didn't get to cook, but we watched Mrs. Anderson do a long demo on double baked potatoes and took our own notes. I knew the drill after that. I went to my locker, dropped my stuff off, put my homework in my purse, and headed for Mr. Jefferson's room.
When I walked in there, I wasn't alone. Mr. J was sitting in his chair talking to Raven. She was never rude to me or anything, she actually referred to me as one of her best friends sometimes, but I kind of found her annoying. She was too preppy.
"Hey," he raised his eyebrows when he noticed me by the doorframe. Raven turned around with a bright smile on her face.
"Sorry if I'm interrupting something." I said, looking directly at him which made him twitch his lips together.
"Nope," she replied. "I was just asking about the Social test marks. Anyway, I gotta go. Bye Mr. J, see ya girl!"
I smiled back and moved out of the way as she left the room. I joined my hands together in front of me and turned my attention back over to him.
"Should I work on the booklet you gave me yesterday?" I asked after a moment.
"Sure," he agreed, eyeing one of the desks.
I sat down facing away from him and got out a review package from my purse. I sighed and began reading one of the questions about the provincial government. About halfway through my little detention, I heard him walking over behind me.
"Do you understand everything so far?" he sat on the edge of my wooden desk.
I looked at where he was seated and then up at his calm eyes. "Yeah."
"Any questions?"
"Not really."
"Okay." he said, and then as I tried to concentrate on the booklet which I didn't care about too much, he talked again. "You looked kind of upset today."
I glanced up again. "How?"
"I don't know," he shrugged. "Just did."
I leaned back against my chair and didn't say anything for a bit. "I have no reason to be upset."
"Good." Mr. Jefferson smiled. "If there's anything on your mind, you can tell me."
"Okay." I nodded. He was just being a kind teacher to a student. Nothing else. Yesterday was a misunderstanding. I needed to keep telling myself that. I didn't want to get my hopes up and be disappointed in the end.
He looked down at my neck and up at my eyes twice. "You know I care about you in a different way.."
I paused and swallowed my throat. My skin felt warmer and a smile peaked across my face. I blinked out of it and cursed myself inside for blushing like that. But his words were circling around me. He was staring at me the way he did yesterday and the other week before that. His chocolate eyes were burning through me.
"Thanks," My lips curved up gently to match him.
"You're welcome, sweetheart."His eyes were sparkling when he said it. It made me feel a sudden twist in my stomach and lump in my throat. He's not supposed to be looking at me like that.. In the midst of knowing how wrong and clearly illegal it all was, I still blushed. He got back on his feet and walked to his desk once more.
I flipped my booklet over to the front page after finishing it and chewed on my bottom lip. The honest truth was that I did not understand a thing from it. I always got high 90's in Social Studies, and how am I supposed to get back on track when my distraction is giving me a tutorial on how to not be distracted?
I sighed and pushed my chair back. I stood up and walked over to him quietly as he seemed concentrated on something on his computer screen.
"Um, I'm done." I squeaked.
He looked up at me. "Good, just leave it right here." He gestured next to his keyboard near the mug with multiple pens and pencils.
I placed it down and rubbed the side of my neck. Mr. J saw me and asked, "Sore?"
"Hockey, the other night," I replied. "One of my teammates accidentally pushed her elbow into my neck and it's still aching."
He made a face when I informed him. "Ouch. That's gotta suck,"
"Yeah." I murmured, glancing at his Mr. Matt Jefferson golden plate.
I watched him as he got up and took four steps closer to me with his hands on his hips. "Let me see," he said.
I licked my lips and tilted my head to one side slightly so he could see better. My heart was beating faster, and faster, and I thought it was going to completely stop when he reached his fingers out slowly and put them on my neck. Even the rain was hitting the windows more quickly. Our bodies were only inches away.
My pupils could see him and his eyes flew to mine. He looked like he cared more than just for my general well-being and I would have killed someone on the spot for a chance to know what was going through his mind. At that very moment, Mr. J began rubbing my aching area ever so gently.
A soft sigh escaped my mouth and my eyes closed for a few seconds until I pulled my self together again. I had to force myself to not give in; to not lose. Then he added the area before his palm which felt even better.
"How does that feel?" His words went through one ear and then out the other.
"Hmm?"
A smirk appeared across his lips. "I asked you if it feels any different."
I swallowed. "Mhmm, yeah."
He slowly came to a stop and then his hand went back to his side. I blinked and straightened my body as we were still face to face. He was about 6'1, and I 5'6 so I had to bend my neck back anyway to look at him.
"Thanks, Mr. J." I crossed my hands over my chest.
"How are you getting home today?" he questioned.
"I'm taking the b---" I glanced outside at the pouring rain falling against the window. "Bus. It's not too cold."
"No way I'm letting you get soaked like that," he smiled kindly. "That'd be cruel. I'll drive you."
"Oh no, it's okay I--"
"Get your jacket on." he ordered, with his eyebrows raised and a light smile on his face.
We both got prepared and he locked his classroom door. We walked through the empty and silent halls and out into the staff parking lot, where he quickly opened the doors of his BMW X5 for us. I put on the seatbelt in the passenger seat and watched as he settled in beside me.
We were well on the road when he asked, "So your birthday is in November? I saw it on my class list for next month."
"Yeah, on the third." I nodded.
"How old are you turning?"
I glanced at him at the red light when we stopped. "Seventeen."
"Nice," he slid his hands around his steering wheel and looked over at me. The only things making noise was the faint sound of rain against the closed windows and the loud windshield wipers.
Mr. Jefferson drove for about ten more minutes and I told him to take a right. We entered my neighborhood and went straight until I pointed to my large house.
"Alright," he drove right by the curb and stopped the car, looking at the sidewalk and then at me.
I undid the seatbelt. "Okay, well, thank you for the ride."
"No problem," he eyed me from my stomach up my chest to my eyes, and smirked lightly.
I opened the car door a jar wide and gave him a slight grin. "Have a nice night, Mr. Jefferson."
*******Author's Note: Hey guys! It has indeed been a long time since I updated this. This chapter is a combo of two chapters from my original Seduce Me story on Mibba.com, with only a few adjustments. I hadn't updated this in a long time thinking that there wasn't enough interest and I just hit a major writing block...maybe not for two years, but, right before starting school.
I've been working on my hockey (Leafs) fan-fictions on Mibba, so there hasn't been much focus on this one. Most of my subscribers are hockey fans, haha. But if I see there is still interest for this one, I can post the next chapter and edit it a little. Take care guys.
