"Why can't I remember him?"

Evangeline interrupted the Enchantress' retelling of the moment she met Eric.

The Enchantress sighed, "Evangeline, after I told you of your mother you broke down, claiming that I was lying. You were screaming and throwing things. After that I regretted telling you. Then I had to inform you of her sickness, she was going to die anyway, which tore at another piece of your heart. I had no other choice than to erase your memory."

"Give me my memory back then" Evangeline demanded, "I want to remember the last moments I had with her."

"If you had seen what I had seen you would not want your memories back."

"Give them to me" Evangeline roared, her eyes darkening.

The Enchantress paused, she could feel the dark energy emitting off Evangeline in that moment, the same she had felt when touching the rings.

As Evangeline continued to glower, The Enchantress sighed, "fine."

She raised her hands either side of Evangeline's head, closing her eyes for a moment, before opening them once again. Except this time they were glowing a vibrant green.

Green sparks danced along her fingertips before attaching themselves to Evangeline's temples.

Then suddenly before The Enchantress' eyes, something began to fight against her magic, pushing it away from Evangeline. Protecting itself.

The Enchantress' expression must have showed her confusion because Evangeline spoke, "is something wrong."

The Enchantress watched in astonishment as the invisible force pushed her magic back toward her palms.

Still confused as to what was happening, she decided not to worry Evangeline.

"It seems that time has forbid me from bringing back those memories, I am truly sorry Evangeline."

Evangeline's anger continued to flare, "what a coincidence. Is that why you left, and did not reunite with me until I asked for your help? Were you afraid that I would find out about my mother? Were you afraid of what I would do to you once I had realised you were a liar?"

The Enchantress' eyes widened slightly, Evangeline had never sounded so threatening before.

"No Evangeline"she growled, "I left you because I was afraid of the plague. I didn't want to die."

A scoff escaped Evangeline's lips.

"It is true Evangeline. I had just met the love of my life, our relationship was already frowned upon, as Eric was a knight and I a commoner, then the plague swept across the land, contaminating anyone in its path."

"He was hardly the love of your life back then, from what you've told me, you had only met a few days before, and I was your best friend, the only one who accepted you" Evangeline hissed.

"Stop Evangeline, why are you acting like this?" The Enchantress questioned.

"Like what? I now know why Eric looked at me so strangely before, he knew who I was" Evangeline sneered.
