Promise

➼Chapter 5 ➼

I woke up with my head on Ashton's chest, I smiled to myself. I moved my head a little bit because it was getting uncomfortable. This woke Ashton up, I turned to look at him and he gave me a cute smile and with his raspy morning voice he said, "Good morning."

"Good morning.", I replied.

He began to sit up and as he did he kissed my forehead. I felt my face start to warm up but instead of turning away I kissed him. I don't know what made me do it. I kind of just felt like I needed to. When I pulled away I heard him say wow. My heart skipped a beat when I heard him say this.

"Question?", he asked.

"Ask away."

"Do you want to do something today?"

"Yea I would love to."

"Cool, I'm going to get ready can you be upstairs in 45 minutes?"

"Yes."

Ashton got out of my bed and walked upstairs. I got up quickly and went to take a shower. When I finished taking a shower I blow dried my hair and brushed my teeth. I had to find an outfit, so I walked out of the bathroom with just my towel and felt the cold air hit me. I quickly ran to the bureau and grabbed a pair of dark washed jeans, and this cute flowy tank top. I put on the outfit and reached for the white converse I bought.

When I was finished getting ready I went upstairs and waited 5 minutes for Ashton. When I saw him coming down the stairs he was wearing khakis and a white t-shirt. Oh how much I love when guys where khakis. He smiled when he saw me and told me I looked nice. I thanked him and returned the compliment. He took my hand and interlocked it with his and we walked out to his car. He opened the door for me and I got in. I didn't know where he was taking me but when I asked him during the car ride he told me that it was a surprise.

The car ride felt long but I was patient because I was so anxious to see where we were going. Ashton turned on to this narrow street and in front of me there was an open area of grass and pathways. Ashton stopped his car and got out and then opened my door for me. When I slowly got out I could see Ashton grabbing something from his trunk. It looked like a picnic basket. Then I got hit with deja vu. That dream I had several nights ago involved a picnic. I couldn't believe that my dream was going to turn into reality. I could tell this day was going to be one that I will never forget.

Ashton noticed me standing there silently staring into nothing.

"Hello" , he said waving a hand in front of my face.

I laughed and grabbed his hand.

We walked over to the grass area and put the blanket down. We sat down on it and Ashton started taking the food out.

"When did you have time to do all this?", I asked.

"Last night I told Danny that I wanted to go out with you, so he gave me this idea. He made the food and packed the basket. And when I got up this morning I quickly ran to my car to put the basket in the trunk."

"Well this was a perfect idea"

"You like it."

"Yes it's amazing."

When we finished eating Ashton packed everything back up in the basket and put it in the car. Then he walked towards me and grabbed my hand and we started to walk along the path ways. We walked until we got to a beach. At the beach I took my shoes off and walked towards the water. I stood there for a few minutes with my feet in the water taking in the sun. I turned around to look at Ashton but when I did he wasn't there, I quickly put my shoes back on and went to look for him. I walked back towards the car and he was still nowhere in sight. I started to panic. But I continued to walk to his car. When I reached his car I still didn't see him. A few minutes later I saw him running. And he yelled, "Get in the car!". I didn't hesitate, I opened the door of the car and put my seatbelt on. Ashton got to the car two minutes later and started his car and backed out down the narrow road.

"Whats going on?", I asked.

"We, I mean you were being followed."

"W-what"

"We need to get you back to Danny's now."

I just shook my head and we quickly drove back to Danny's .

When we got to Danny's I walked into the house shaking and went to the kitchen and sat down. Danny and Ashton walked into the kitchen shortly after. Ashton explained what happened. I guess Ashton noticed someone following us to the beach but he played it cool around me because he didn't want to get me nervous. When we got to the beach Ashton confronted him out of sight from me. The man that Ashton confronted confessed that he was here to get me. Ashton punched him until he blacked out and ran back to the car. Danny told us we couldn't go out anymore unless he is with us. He just wanted to make sure I stayed safe.

When the conversation ended Danny left and went back to his office. Ashton and I just sat there silently. I got up from the seat and went downstairs to change. A few minutes later Ashton knocked on the door. I told him to come in.

He came down the stairs and said, "I just wanted to check up on you to make sure you were okay."

"Yea I am okay"

"Okay"

"Wait", I said.

"Yea?"

"Can you stay with me tonight? I don't want to be alone."

"Of course", he replied.
