Time stopped as I saw the most beautiful girl sitting a few tables down. She was stunning, goddess-like even. Her chestnut locks framed her porcelain face. I didn't know how, but I had to find a way to get her in my life. She looked at me, most likely sensing that somebody was staring at her, her icy blue eyes burning through my soul. I went over to her

We started out as strangers, then became acquaintances, then friends over the span of a month. A small part of me wanted us to be more than that though. After a week of warring with myself, I decided it was time to show her how I felt. What did I have to be scared of? She had said she was bisexual, so I had a chance.

I went to the local floral shop, buying a small bouquet of red roses, which is what I learned is her favorite. I headed to school, more ready than ever. What I saw when I finally got to her shocked me.

She was with a guy, talking, laughing, one could say it looked like they were flirting. I shook my head. I was probably over-analyzing this all. I slowly stepped forward. As I took that step forward, it seemed like the universe was playing a cruel joke on me. The boy leaned forward and kissed her.

I went completely numb. I hadn't realized that I had dropped the flowers and ran until I was sitting in the bathroom crying. Of course she was taken. Someone that beautiful couldn't be single. But even as she broke my heart, without even knowing it, she was still the most beautiful girl to me.

Later, despite everything, I sat with her at lunch as I normally did. She was practically glowing.

"So, you have a boyfriend?" I asked. "I didn't know."

"Well, we just got together this morning." She told me. "It was over by my locker."

This morning. They started dating this morning. And it was by her locker. That's where I saw them standing together. My heart dropped into my stomach as this realization hit me. I could've gotten her, but I was too late.
