"Bio was horrible. I don't know how I'm going to remember everything for the exam." Sarah said at lunch the next day. We were sitting at our usual table at the back of the cafeteria, away from most of the noise. "And I only have two exams. How are you going to manage four?"
I shrugged and looked down at my cafeteria chicken and fries. America should really invest in better food for it's schools. "One test at a time I guess."
"Are you okay London? You've been acting strange all day."
Honestly, Ben wasn't talking to me. I think he's mad about last night. He still wants to tell his mom or ... anyone about my dad, but I can't do it. The whole situation has me stressed.
"Yeah. Just a lot on my mind." I told her. The bell rang and we both grabbed our trays.
"See you after school." Sarah said as she walked away from me and toward her last class. I took a deep breath and walked into AP History.
Ben was already in his seat like he always is when I walk in. I sat down in my seat and turned to face my friend. "Are you still mad?" I asked.
Ben glanced my way and then turned back to the book he was reading, which was upside-down. I flipped it over for him. "Are you ever going to talk to me again?"
"Depends." He finally said. "Can we tell my mom?"
I sighed. "Ben. You know I don't want to do that."
"And I can't see how. This is your safety London. That's nothing to mess around with."
Our teacher, Mr. Henson, walked in then, "Good morning class." He greeted.
"We'll talk about this later." Ben said turning back to face the front.
"Don't we always." I retorted taking out my homework.

But later Ben never got a chance to bring it up. Riley was waiting for us outside our class as soon as the bell rang. "Hey." he said greeting us. "How was history?"
"Great." I said, happy to not talk about my home life. We started walking down the hall. "We got our study guides for the AP test today. If we do at least one page every night Mr. Henson said we should ace the test."
Riley smiled. "Well I never doubted your ability, Ben on the other hand might need a bit more practice."
Ben punched Riley in the arm. "Yeah well how's AP Calc for you, huh? Heard about the study session last night. Looks like I'm not the only one who needs a bit more practice." Riley busted out laughing while nodding his head. "Anyway," Ben continued with a smile. "Ready for nature club?"
"It's Eco club, not nature club." I said walking into the classroom where the club was held. "And you are the treasure so I think you should know that."
"Tell me again why you or Riley didn't get the treasure job?" Sarah asked when we walked in. She was already sitting down in a desk. "I mean, he's not in AP Calc."
I saw Ben roll his eyes. "Because these two battled it out for president and vice president. They're total nature buffs."
We all laughed as I pulled out some papers about recycling and state parks. That was actually a very fun part of last year. Both Riley and I wanted to be president and no one ran for vice. It was like running for homecoming or something. It was pretty intense but fun. I won by like three votes.
