"Marinette, you'll be late!", the voice of my mother rings through my ears. Although after just waking up her voice sounds muffled but I still make up what she says.
Another school year comes, another school year goes. It's always like this, I'm still exhausted from the akuma battle Chat Noir and I faced last night. My body aches, but I manage to ignore the pain and lazily make my way out the bed.
My life is pretty simple for the most part. Except the fact that I'm constantly on the run. I almost never have time for myself.
I quickly get dressed and make my way downstairs to greet my mother. Papa is probably downstairs working in the bakery all ready.
I feel a bit of movement in my purse,
tikki.
That's right.. She must be a bit hungry, I'll just have to make sure to get her a cookie from the bakery before I leave.
"Good morning Marinette," my mother says to me with a smile on her face. Before I could greet her back a yawn spreads across my lips and interrupts the words coming out my mouth.
I look over to see my mother give me a warm tender smile.
" You should really get more sleep Marinette, what's the point of late night studying if you won't even be awake at school?"
Yea, school.. The only excuse I have to use when I'm talking to my parents.
"Sorry I'm late mom... I uh I was working on a school project!"
" Oh my gosh, mom I'm sorry I was uhh reading a um book for school! "
""Marinette! You look exhausted." Well, yea! I was up uhh all night studying...? "
"Sorry mom.. I have to go, I'm gonna be late!", after realizing that it was 9:40am I almost jumped out of the nearest window I could find.
Mom handed me a apple for breakfast. I ran down the stair heading for the bakery.
I see Papa working hard, like always. I give him a kiss on the cheek and reach over the counter for a freshly baked cookie for tikki.
Now I'm all set to go to school. Thank goodness I don't live far, i'd probably miss school every single day if I did.
And missing school is the same as missing Adrien.
I smile to myself at the thought. Seeing Adrien can make even the worst days better.
I push open the bakery door and step out. The sun greats my skin with a warm embrace while the cool wind plays with my hair.
I quickly jog to the school. I feel a small movement coming from my purse.
"Gee Marinette, you sure seen eager to get to school! "
I look down to see tikki smiling. I return the smile.
"Well yea.. I mean it's always exciting to start a new school year, I can't wait to see what the future has in store for us!"
She give me a short nod and a smile. At the time I never noticed how excited and happy I felt about starting a new school year.
But once I walked in I soon regretted every thing I said.
