Everyone in the house was asleep or visiting other friends. This was the preferred house of the friends, but not everyone was able to stay over for a long time. It was around 12:00 pm, and there were only two people still awake; Okotte and Minoua.
These two were pretty good friends, but everyone knew there was something more. Every time one of them would speak to the other, there would be shared looks and inside jokes. Okotte would look at Minoua with this certain look, and Minoua would look away, blushing. Everyone knew that they had a connection, but they never admitted it. But tonight, it was different. Tonight, they were alone.
Tick tick tick the clock sounded in the silence, the only sound in the awkwardly empty house. Okotte and Minoua were sitting on the couch, doing their own thing. Okotte was on his phone, looking at a video game review, while Minoua was watching hentai. After a while, Okotte got bored of his review, and looked over at Minoua's screen. Unawares, Minoua didn't look up. Okotte's face contorted in withheld laughter, but he wasn't able to hold it in. A laugh erupted from him, scaring Minoua out of her seat. The phone slipped out of her hands and slid across the floor, the screen still visible. "Oh my god!" She cried, "why would you sneak up behind me like that?" Her face was a deep red behind her purple hair.
Okotte couldn't stop laughing, and he wiped away tears from his eyes as he tried to say, "I was curious about what you were doing." Minoua sniffled, and hid her face.
" What did you see?"
Okotte looked at her, and just laughed. Minoua threw her hands into the air. "Please don't tell anyone." Still laughing uncontrollably, Okotte nodded and placed his right hand over his heart.
"I promise not to tell Saige."
Silence stood over them then, Minoua still hiding her face. The laughter died down from Okotte, when he realized that Minoua was crying. After a moment, Okotte walked over to Minoua and wrapped his arms around her. "I'm sorry, Minoua."
After a few sniffles, Minoua leaned back into Okotte's arms. Okotte placed his head on top of hers, and breathed in her flowery scent from her flower headband. "You're so beautiful Minoua."
Minoua looked up at Okotte, their eyes locking. Slowly, a smile spread across Minoua's face. "You think so?" She asked. Okotte nodded, awestruck by the sheer innocence and beauty of the girl in his arms. The tear lines down her cheek shone in the dim light, drawing his attention to her were so beautiful, it took his breath away. Minoua noticed his gaze, smiled again, and leaned in for a kiss.
