Dan's POV

It was around 3 AM and I heard, what sounded like sobbing, coming from my front porch. To be completely honest, I was more curious as to what it was, than concerned why it was happening. The sounds have been going strong for five minutes now, I decided I would go down and check it out. I rapidly made my way to my front door, pushing it open just enough to stick my head through. I didn't need the neighbours, or whoever else that could be around, to see me in my boxers. I spotted a small slump of a shadow sitting in the corner of my porch, shoulders shaking and small sobs being emitted after every breath.

"Hello....?" I asked cautiously, for all I know this figure could be some bloke drunk off his ass.

The figure's head shot up as it attempted to push itself up from the floor. After much struggling, the shadow made its way to stand to the side of the door. My hallway light revealing the stranger to be Phil. A slightly unrecognizable Phil, that is. Beneath the thin veil of tears taking up residence on his small face, there were dozens of purplish bruises, with a few deep red cuts here and there. I edged the door all the way open with my elbow, extending my arms toward him. He took a few hesitant steps towards me, before he decided to encircle his arms around my waist and place his head against the fabric of my shirt. I allowed my fingers to comb their way through his long raven black locks, frowning down at his broken figure. I was afraid that if there were that many bruises on his face, there would be a whole lot of others on his body, too.

"Phil... do you want to come inside?" I had lowered my voice to the lowest whisper I could manage to not scare him.

He nodded his head slowly as he removed himself from me, he took a few steps inside before he reached my couch. Phil curled himself into one of the corners, clutching a throw pillow tightly to him. I made sure all of the deadbolts on the door were locked tight before I followed after him and sat on the edge of the coffee table right in front of him.

"You don't have to talk about it if you don't want to, okay?" I spoke in the same low tone, silently wishing he'd decide to tell me what was going on.

Phil fidgeted his legs around some, looking around with wide crystal eyes, before he took a few deep breaths and pursed his lips together.

"H-he, Sean, he hit me. He tried to choke me. He threw glass bottles at me. He told me he never loved me and that I was worthless to him. I'm sorry for coming here so late. You.... you're just the only person I feel comfortable with. And I-I have nowhere to go. Would you mind if I stayed with you?" Phil was speaking against the beige fabric of the pillow, trying his best to hold back his tears.

His boyfriend was beating him, there was no way I could turn him down, not that I would anyway.
