The dying man's hand was holding onto Lu Cang's wrist tightly as if no matter what he would never let him go. His unfocused eyes were widely opened. The turning wildly pupils were trying their best to focus on Lu Cang.
"Your Highness......"
After the second time addressing Lu Cang with such honorable title, the man fainted......
Jing's eyes shrank and narrowed dangerously.
Lu Cang also with whole face at a loss of what to do, helplessly stared at Jing's face, ---Jing seemed to diligently suppress his anger.
"He might have confused you with someone else. It just happened that you were the one he saw when he opened his eyes." Squeezing these words out, the anger in Jing's face for encountering such troublesome man who brazenly touched his Xiao Cang was so apparent.
Lu Cang nodded his head. Although he was slightly amused by Jing's manner of speaking, ---Jing's tone was as if this man was the same as a newly hatched bird who would regard whomever they saw first as their parent, nevertheless, he still didn't dare to laugh at the currently irritated Jing.
Of course, nine out of ten this man should have confused him with someone else. Lu Cang was also fully aware that he was not cut out to be whatever kind of nobleman. Since he could remember, he had been a bandit all along, though, now he was somewhat of an official, a Marquis.
Gesturing with his head to just leave the man to his death, Jing was ready to take his leave.
After a couple steps, he realized that Lu Cang was still rooted on the spot. Not at all doing what he told him to. And that man's hand was still grabbing Lu Cang's hand.
"What? It's not like we know him nor have whatever obligation to wait until he departs from this world and then kindly bury him."
What Jing had said was indeed reasonable. They didn't even know him and they found him by chance ...... however --- A kind of hard to describe feeling filled Lu Cang's heart when he recalled the moment when that man saw his face, there was a spark of joy and hope in those dull eyes. Even if he wanted, yet, he felt that he couldn't let this man just like that.
Hardening his resolution, he looked up to Jing. "Jing......" Lu Cang was calling out to Jing in a soft voice, the voice that had the implication of pleading.
For a period of time, Jing only silently looked at him with an annoyed face. Lu Cang rarely made any request or demand for himself, most of the time, whenever he pleaded, it was for someone else's sake. But looking at Lu Cang's pleading eyes, Jing couldn't help but soften his heart. In the end, he still heaved a long and heavy sigh before he fished out a brocade pouch from his chest and took out a red colored pill.
Jing had always carried some pills and medicines with him in case of emergency. Actually, he was extremely unwilling to give this rare pill to this random stranger. This pill was rare and very precious. The alchemist even dared to swear that this pill could revive the dead. Of course this was only some boast to show how efficacious the pill was.
"Feed him this pill to replenish his vigour. Use your Qi to quicken the pill to take effect. After he looks a bit better, we will take him to the city and get him some medical treatment."
