There once was a white wedding
It was small and quaint
The bride was a sinner
And the groom was a saint
They had a lovely daughter
A daughter with no name
This is how it started
With this couple's wedding day
.
They had a son already
But he moved far away
And they loved their daughter so
They wanted her to stay
.
They hid her for the world
And hid her from its greed
Together they decided that
Their love was all she'd need.
.
As a child she was happy
Except for the lonely nights
Because the wooden walls were thin
And she could hear their fights
.
As she got older, through the years
She never saw the sun
She got bolder, shed less tears,
She was going to run.
.
A week before her escape took place
Her mother overdosed
And with heavy head and heavy heart
Her plan went comatose.
.
Her days were filled with mourning
Her nights with muffled screams
Her dad was more and more depressed
Her life was a bad dream
.
About a month later
When her dad was supposed to be working
Her brother came home with red rimmed eyes
Not his usual smirking
.
Her dad had passed away in grief
It couldn't be more wrong
Now her brother was her guardian
And all she had left was a song
.
"Rain drops keep fallin' on my head,"
Her mother used to sing
Now her bed sheets were soaked red
Oh! The pain a knife could bring
.
In his sadness her brother snapped
He beat her black and blue
She begged him and pleaded with him to stop
But he was never through
.
One day when he was drinking
She sang herself a tune
She laughed at something no one heard
And said she'd see them soon
.
Her momma was a sinner, her daddy was a saint
The blood on the floor was oh so red that it looked like paint
The brother took one too many pills
The sister realized how innocence kills
And she hummed to herself, dreaming of the sun
She went into the kitchen and got her daddy's gun
Cocked it, shot the bullet straight through her brain
Finally relieved that her escape was done
On the grave read The Girl With No Name...
And that was the only time her frail body saw the sun
And that's the story of The Girl Who Went Insane.
