The rain slashes against the window panes as a melancholy feeling settles over the room. You sit up as a sense of dread fills you. You don't know why, but your body aches with nervousness. You take a glance over at the alarm clock. 3:37. You sigh and sit up, deciding it would be almost impossible to fall back asleep. The rain was just far too noisy. Insomnia has always been an issue, but it seems be getting worse with every coming night. You get up out of your stiff and messy bed and walk over to the mirror. You're hair is still damp from the shower you had early that night. Thick, black bags have began to form under your blood shot eyes. You straighten up your back up and walk into the kitchen. The news is on, since you forgot to turn the television off last night. You walk over to the counter and fix a pot of coffee. You sit down at the counter and wait, knowing that time wasn't an issue. You look out the window, the rain gave you a comforting feeling for some reason. Your outside now and your booking it down the street, your heart pounding out of your chest. You feel as though something is chasing you. You sprint down the boulevard, trying to shake off whatever was chasing you. Your breath is shaky and your mussels are tensing up as you run. You run down a side street, the rain sloshing against your bare feet. You soon find yourself cornered. You slowly turn around to face the creature of unimaginable horror that was chasing you. You look. It's your kettle steaming on the stove. Your coffee was ready. You stand up and pour yourself a cup and wipe the sleep from your eyes. You look over at the television. The rain was supposed to get worse today and residents were supposed to watch out and prepare for intense weather conditions. You put your mug of hot coffee down on the kitchen counter and go to get dressed. Today was the day. It had to be. Today was the day you nail your job interview. You'd messed up 17 different interviews and were becoming rather stressed out by the fact that you needed to get more money to pay for rent. The landlord was starting to become rather impatient with you. You throw on a clean white shirt and some jeans. You needed to go shopping for some more clothes. But you first needed more money to do so. And to get money you needed a job. You could already tell today was going to be a miserable day. You brush out you hair and slip on your thick, black frames glasses, questioning why you chose these out of all the other glasses. You throw on a red and black flannel, leaving the buttons undone. You examine yourself in the mirror. "Good enough..." You mutter as snatch your keys and throw open the front door, locking it behind you. You fix your shirt collar and sigh. "Today's the day." You think aloud to yourself as you walk out into the bitter welcoming arms of day light.
