[ Sans POV ]
I've always worried about that kid. I feel like I shouldn't, but I do anyway. Papyrus told me before that she saw her running back into her house. Maybe I should visit her?
No.
I don't want to bother her any more. It's her choice if she wants to tell me anything or not. Honestly, I don't want anything to do with her, especially what happened in the past timeline. She was a monster.
Or... was it her? I'm not sure. The way she carried that knife and laughed insanely, it was terrifying. The way she dodged all my attacks, and cut me deeply. The way she slaughtered my brother, as well as everyone else. It was dreadful. Awful. Indescribable, really.
Every time I think of her doing that, my soul breaks little by little... however, she's changed, which is great. Except... she's a lot more down. Her smile isn't genuine anymore. The same with her laugh. Her eyes were always filled with sadness as well as fear. I wanted to help.
I want her to be happy.
That's it. I'm going over to her house. I don't care if she doesn't want me there, I want to know what's happening right now. I head over to the kitchen, looking at my brother.
"Hey, Pap, I'm heading over to Frisk's place." I said, smiling. He quickly turned around, his eye sockets... glistening?
"Ah! You're finally going to confess your love to the Human?" He shouted, smiling as he does so. I looked at him, raising my brown bone.
"H-, W-What?" I stuttered. Pap knew that I fell in love with Frisk, but since that thing happened, I hated it.
Yet I still loved her. Fuck, I loved her so much. The way she used to smile and laugh at my jokes, as well as joining in with some puns that she'd come up with. In fact, I still love her. I wanted her to be happy.
"Come on Sans! You need to tell her. Quit being boneheaded!" Pap encouraged, but I just kinda ignored him.
"Sure, bro. I'll be back later." I waved at him, until I teleported outside her house, and that's when I heard a scream.
It was Frisk.
[ Narrators POV ]
Frisk collapsed on the floor, Chara slowly being absorbed into her. Frisk's soul floated up before turning complete black. She's done it.
Sans broke down the door, to see her down on the floor, as well as her dark soul above her. His eyes widened. 'So, it wasn't her all along? Something was controlling her...' Sans thought to himself, before he realized something.
"Chara..." he growled, as the human lifted itself up, smirking. She opened her eyes which were blood red. She broke into laughter, and stared right at the Skeleton.
"Ohh~. It's good to be back in a physical state, don't you agree comedian?" She mocked, before grabbing a sharp, clean knife from the kitchen counter. Sans glared at her, not knowing what to do. If he fought her, he'd probably kill Frisk.
"What's the matter, Skeleton? Lost for words?" she laughed again, pressing her finger against the blade, cutting into Frisk's skin.
"You see, I'm not exactly in the mood for killing you... or any one else. In fact~," she hummed, looking to the side, examining the human form she was in.
"I have other priorities in my mind. Frisk has been in such a terrible state. She'd think about such horrible things, I just couldn't bare the poor thing to suffer. I thought I could end it, but it never worked out before, ever since you got involved," she threw a glare at Sans, who was slightly shaking as he was hearing all this.
"You made it harder for me to take control. You made it harder for her to completely lose control over her emotions, until recently... It became a lot easier, you know?" Chara sighed, raising the knife as she shrugged.
"C-Chara... D-Don't do this, please..." Sans stuttered, a tear drop slowly falling down his cheek. But she just simply laughed.
"Am I finally rattling your bones?"
"Hey, you can't make a pun. Only Frisk and my other friends can."
"Heh, too late comedian." Chara mocked, before returning to her emotionless stare. She raised the knife, and smiled, until she rammed it into her stomach. She coughed up blood, but continued to smile, a bit of blood coming out of the corner of her mouth.
"Have fun with this one, Skeleton." She mentioned, before dropping the knife. Frisk's body collapsed onto the ground, her soul returning back to the reddish colour - however - it was slowly breaking. Frisk was dying.
Sans panicked, running over to her, lifting her up slightly.
"Don't do this to me... Stay alive kid, please. W-We still need balance all those hot dogs on your head!" He chuckled nervously. He then had an idea, picking her up bridal style and teleporting to a certain lab.
He banged on the door until it opened to reveal a small, little dinosaur type of monster. She looked up, shocked.
"O-Oh! S-Sans! What happened?" She blurted out, moving out of the way so he can run in.
"Chara." he simply stated, before turning back to the dinosaur.
"Alphys, please. I need your help. You're the only one I know who can help her!" He protested. Alphys nodded, pointing to another room.
"P-please, take her in there. I'll try my best to help!" she raised her voice. Sans nodded, before taking Frisk's unconscious body into the room she pointed towards, laying her down onto the bed. He then looked at her, caressing her cheek
"You're going to be okay." he reassured her.
He got nothing but silence for a response.
