Ryan woke up on his bed to a loud sound. It was his mom. He could tell from how she sounded that she was in pain.
He got out of his bed and walked quickly to his parents room. He peeked his head inside. She was sitting on the bed in what must of been unbearable pain.
His dad was still at work. He had had a really late shift today.
Ryan looked at the clock on his parents night stand. It was one in the morning. His dad wouldn't be home until two.
"Ryan.........Ryan call your dad," his mom said in pain.
Ryan didn't even say anything back. He ran out to the living room where the house phone was and he called his dad as quick as he could manage.
The phone rang once, twice, three times now. Ryan was terrified that his dad might not pick up.
Finally right as the phone was about to go to voicemail. His dad picked up,"Hello?"
"Dad. Something's wrong with mom," Ryan told his dad at a really quick pace.
"Cassie.......," his dad muttered.
The sudden realisation hit Ryan in the face. It was his sister. His mom was pregnant with his little sister named Cassie.
He might of only been seven but he knew about pregnancies and sex and stuff. He was probably the smartest kid in his grade and he just finds crap out somehow.
"Ryan I'll be there soon. Look out for your mother," his father ordered him.
"Of course dad," and with that Ryan hung up the phone and ran back to his parents room.
Ryan sat next to his mom and tried to comfort her the best he could. "You're going to be fine mom. You're going to be just fine."
Tears rolled down his mother's face. It must have been so painful.
After about fifteen minutes of trying his best to care for his mother, his dad burst through the door.
He must have drove very quickly. It normally would have taken him 30 minutes to drive to their house. He worked in Lake City in Florida and their house was in a tiny town called Branford. Thankfully however, it looked like he didn't get a speeding ticket.
"Come on," his dad was saving the day once again.
His father helped his mom up and got her to the car. Ryan just awkwardly sat in there too.
Ryan's dad got in the drivers's seat and started driving.
Ryan tried to comfort his mom but, he couldn't really do much. He didn't know what to do. He was only seven after all.
After some time of driving they arrived at the hospital. His dad rushed his mom into the hospital and they took her into a room. Only his dad could go into the room so Ryan went and sat in the chair outside the room.
This is so terrifying. I'm going to actually be an older brother. For seven years I thought I was going to be an only child. But, now. Now I know I'm not going to be, Ryan thought to himself as he sat in silence except for the occasional sound from his mother or doctors talking.
