Legends (Rewriting)

part six

The next day went by like a flash and we were getting ready to leave to another place. I was sitting on the couch when Dimitri came over and kissed my cheek.

“Are you ready?” He asked and I looked at him and shook my head. I pouted and leaned his head on my shoulder.  I didn’t want to leave because this place was perfect; we had a warm place and food.

“Seera please don’t act like this. You have for the whole day.” He said and I just sighed. I turned so I could hold him, and he snuggled into my hug. I kissed his head and answered him.

“I'm sorry I just didn’t want to go. This place is just so perfect, but I get it we need to or we could get caught.” I said and Dimitri looked up and smiled. He placed a kiss on my lips and I deepened our kiss and Dimitri got into a better position and pulled me onto his lap. After a few seconds I pull back so I could breath. Dimitri put his head in the crook of my neck and kissed me several times.

I inhaled a deep breath and let it out. I heard as everyone started heading over to the door so they could leave. Dimitri noticed and I got up so we could go over there too. I took his hand and intertwined or fingers and he smiled warmly at me. I smiled back and pecked his cheek.

“Alright, it’s almost time to go.” Paul said after coming out of the little office. We nodded and we all changed into our animal forms. I sat down and waited for them to make the signal to leave.

I don’t know how long we sat there but I got anxious and jittery. Finally Dimitri walked over to Paul and Paul nodded. He opened the door and we ran outside. Once everyone was changed and ready we headed out.  As we ran I couldn’t help but look back a few times. We ran for a good hour before we stopped to rest and drink from the small stream we found. I lapped at the water and I felt someone nudge my side and I saw Sarina. I rubbed my head against hers as if it was a hug.

‘What’s wrong?’ I asked. She just looked at me.’ Sarina come on don’t be silent.’

‘Are we going to keep running forever?’ She asked and that cut me short. I looked at her and saw how sad her eyes looked. I knew she didn’t like running away like we were, but we had no choice none of the pups like doing this.

I shook my head.’ No I don’t think we will.’ I answered and she gave me a huff and rubbed head against my neck. I sat down and watched as Sarina walked over to Antonio. She sat down next to him and cuddle underneath him and he laid down on top of her in a protective way. I smiled and looked to see if the guys who went hunting were coming back. Among those few people were Dimitri. I sighed and laid down trying to relax. It was helping, only making me tired. As I was about to close my eyes I saw them running this way, and no animal parts in their jaws.

On instinct I figured it was happening again, just like the last time. Kyra had gotten everyone to run, as I waited for Dimitri. Once he was near me I started to run.

‘What happened!?’ I said frantically.

‘They found us, I don’t know how but they found us.’ He said and I didn’t ask anything after that. I ran and then I heard what sounded like a machine. I looked over my shoulder slightly to see two blinding lights come into view. What was that?

I wish I never said that because it was getting closer to us. I then saw a shine come off a metal object and I pushed Dimitri out of the way as the sound of a gunshot filled the air. It hit my hind leg and I collapsed to the ground in pain. I shifted into my human form and cried out in pain.

Dimitri stopped and came running back to me. I glared at him.

“Keep going do not stop for me!” I screamed and huffed as a stinging pain went through my leg again. I looked towards the vehicle and saw that it stopped and

people hopped out of it. I looked back at Dimitri and he looked pained to leave me.

“I love you, go, they need you more than me.” I said and he howled a sad howl and took off again. I turned back to look at the oncoming Hunters and prepared for the worst. As they came closer they began to talk.

“So this is what they really are?” One said and they finally were in my range of sight. I noticed one was in a long white coat.

“So doc what kind of experiments are you going to run on the thing?” The other person said. Experiments, what the hell did I get myself into? The bent down to look at me closely; I growled at them and snapped my fangs at them. They backed up slightly and then the one in the white coat chuckled.

“Feisty.” He said,” At least this one won’t bore me.” He said and then he pulled something out and quickly stabbed it into my arm. In a few seconds I felt tired and lazy, as I flop down to the ground. They gave me something. The other guy with the white coat man picked me up and carried me to their car. I felt like my brain was shutting down and forcing me to fall asleep. I felt as the guy tossed me into the back seat and the other yelled at him.

“Don’t throw her, she’s a test subject. If any harm comes to her, you’ll pay for it dearly.” He said and the other guy grunted before getting in the car himself and the drove away back to the highway. I slowly slipped into a heavy sleep and hoped that the others were okay.
