Chapter 1

LAURYN

"C'mere, Keenan." I said as I grabbed the child I looked after

"What's wrong, baby??" I said wiping his crying face

"My daddy friend hit me right here." He said sobbing and pointing to a spot on his back

I lifted his shirt and saw a huge ass bruise and I got pissed. I've known Keenan since he was a few weeks old. He even calls me mommy. So yes imma have a few fuckin words for whoever picks him up today. Which was supposed to be done like an hour ago.
"Imma make sure it doesn't happen again. Okay??" I said kissing his cheeks.

"Ok mama." He said nuzzling my chest.

He was sniffling while dozing off. We were on the floor so I stood up and him down. I put a cover on him and started cleaning up.

When I finished, I took a seat and played with. My phone until some one walked in.

"Do you need something?" I said standing up and looking at the random man

"Yea, whea' my son??" He said being rude

"First, who do you think you talking to?! Second, who is yo son??"

"Keenan Carter. I dont have all day to be playin wit yo ass all day. Now give me his shit so I can leave." He said rolling his eyes

I was pissed

"Boy, you got one more time to talk to me off the side if ya neck. Now, I wanna kno who the hell has been beating him??" I said raising voice and putting my hand on my hips

"Ion kno what you talking bout. I don't even spank my kid." He said looking sincere

"Somebody has been. He's been crying all day. Look." I said yanking him over to the crib and easing Keenan's shirt up. I pointed to the spot

"Ion kno who did that shit ta him." He said rubbing the bridge of his nose

"He said his daddy friend did it." I said lowering his voice

"A'ight I'll handle it. Lemme ask ya somethin' tho, who is the person he calls mama around here??" He said smirking like shit was a joke

"Me. Anymore questions??"

"Nah, but thank you, cuz he talks about you all the time. He loves you." He said looking at his son

"Come baby." I said picking Keenan up and handing him to his daddy

He woke a little and hugged me.

"I love you mama."

"I love you too, Keenan." I said kissing his forehead

I grabbed his bag and his jacket then giving them to his daddy. They were heading out the door.

"Aye ma, what ya name is??" He said smirking

"Lauryn."

"Nice, I'm rocky. Thank you again." He said finally leaving the room

My day was finally over, so I gathered. My stuff then headed to my car. I was in the parking lot, when I noticed that Keenan and his daddy was still here. Keenan was crying and screaming.

"I Want My Mama!!!!!" I knew he was talking about me so I went over there. I grabbed him and hugged him.

"What's wrong baby??" I said rocking him

"I wanna go with you!!" He said in between sobs

"I know baby, how bout you, I go to your house and play and then later I will see you tomorrow, ok??" I said looking in his beautiful eyes
