Chapter 7: Goodbyes

After The Party...

               When driving home from the party, my parents had texted something I didn't want happening soon after my friendship with Johnson and Gilinsky. I kind of wanted to go so I never had to see Jay again, but, I'd rather get beat up by Jay and his friends than leaving Johnson and Gilinsky. I have to move to California. LA, to be specific. We got home and I acted like I never got the message. Johnson opened my door and I ran out and hugged him. I guess I hugged him harder than a casual hug, and he noticed. "Hey, why are you hugging me so tightly?" Johnson asked. "Uh I-I just wanted to hug you tighter than usual.." I said, trying to wing it as hard as I could, but..I don't think I did a very good job. I went to my room and started crying. I think Johnson heard me, and he came in, with a worried look on his face. Gilinsky had gone home, and it was only me and him. "What happened?" He asked. Great. I showed him my phone with the text showing. "You're kidding.." He said, his eyes starting to develop tears. "That's why I hugged you tightly an-" He hugged me tightly. I started crying harder. "L-Liv. Olivia. It's ok. You got me right beside you." 

"Nebraska's so far away from LA, Jack. I don't want to go. They can't make me. I could stay. Sure, I just got out of my senior year of high school, and don't have a part time job, but I can stay! Right?" After I said that, Jack was silent. "Jack! Please, say something! I have to stay!" 

"Olivia, I'm sorry, but there's no way you can stay. Your parents aren't going let you.." 

"No..." I said, I started to cry harder. Jack tried to hug me. But I pushed him away. I didn't want him to see all of my sadness. "Olivia.." He kissed my cheek, and walked out of the room. That night, I didn't have a good night's rest. Jack seemed to be sleeping soundly, but I was crying myself to sleep. I felt his warm arm wrapped around me. I checked the time. 12:43. I felt Jack move closer to me, and he said,"It's gonna be alright." I replied with a small "hmm." I turned around towards him, and his heartbeat put me to sleep.
