Where have you been

I smiled to myself and just relaxed, listening to the water flow around my tail. It was just so peaceful. I felt happy, like truly happy. I forgot about everything that's ever happened to me. All the things that make me feel broken, lonely, an worthless. The things that made me small in such a big world, all the hate makes me fell so crushed under it, surrounding me making me feel closed in. It all disappeared. Vanished into the water as it washed away into the ocean. My mind seamed empty, relaxed and care free.

But the moment can't last for long.

The water started moving faster as something else was pushing its way through it. I frowned someone was swimming into the cave. I started to panic.

What if they see me, who am I kidding there obviously going going to see me!

soon I could see 3 figures rising towards to top of the crystal blue ocean water. I started to hyperventilate, gasping for breaths, hiccuping being the only thing I was capable of doing at the moment.

Suddenly I spotted something off about theses people. Girls to be exact. There was something different about then, they.........

HAD TAILS!!!

They were like me. They were mermaids! But that didn't mean that I wasn't in any trouble.

One of the girls popped there head up from under the water. And right after her came another one and then the last one.

''I told you I was faster,'' the first one said to the second one. I smiled at there friendly competition. ''I would have one if you didn't cut me off'' the second one wined. The last one stepped into the conversation ''guys there no need to fight, winning isn't everything'' she said. ''And that why you can last'' the second one laughed. ''Well I can hold my breathe longer than both of you'' the third one stated.

I sat there still and silent. Hoping they might leave before they saw me. But of cores with my luck (which doesn't seam to exist) the first girl turned her head to we're I was sitting frosting in my spot.

Her eyes went wide with fear and her body tended, her eyes travailed down my body until she saw my tail. She visibly relaxed when she saw it. The other girls went silent and looked in the direction that there friend was, towards me. I smiled and waved at them.

''I'm sorry I didn't know someone was already here.'' I said quietly. The three girls sat there looking shocked. I smiled at them once more before getting ready to dive into the water.

''Please stay'' the third girl says to me. ''We had no idea there was another mermaid living in this area! This is amazing we have a new friend!'' She said happily.

''I just moved here, I was adopted today and decided to go for a swim. I had no idea that I had an ocean in my back yard!'' I yelled happily.

All the girls gasped, ''you live in the beach?'' One of them asked. I nodded. ''We do too!!' They squealed.

''Umm, I actually never got you names'' I said to them.

''I'm Emma'' the first one smiled, I smiled back at her, she looked like the oldest of the group if girls. She had blonde hair that stopped just after her shoulders. She had blue eyes that were tinted with green. Her tail was a solid dark pink.

''I'm Alicia'' the second one said. She smiled at me with her slightly crooked teeth. She had green eyes her hair was white at the top and faded onto a light drown. Her tail was pure white.

''And I'm Avery'' the last girl said, she looked like she was the youngest maybe a year younger than me. She had dark brown curly hair that faded into a beautiful dark purple and dark brown chocolate eyes. her tail matched her hair perfectly, a beautiful purple, and plain at the top but the farther down the tail you went the more sparkle there was, I was happy that I had finally found not only three mermaid friends but I found one of the other three mermaids that have a sparkly tail. I've never seen a tail like hers, it was so vibrant, pure beauty.

''I'm Emily, but u can call me whatever you want'' I smiled at them. '' lets see.. I'm 12 I became a mermaid when I was 10, I was adopted today by five guys, Niall is my new dad, uncle Harry, Liam, Louis, and Zyan'' I finish. All the girls smile at me, shocked looks on There faces '' you were adopted by One Direction!'' Alicia screams.

''Who?'' I ask, she looks at me like I'm a mystical creature that is suppose to me a myth, oh wait...I AM. ''You don't know ow who one direction is?'' They all scream in unison. ''Well, that wasn't creepy at all'' I say sarcastically. They all smile and nod to me, I laugh at them. These kids are going to be my best friends.

I look up at the sky and take in the view of all the stars, the moon is only a half moon tonight but in less than a week till the full moon. If your wondering the full moon affects mermaids and makes them go a little crazy. Lets say it's like getting a mermaid drunk, which has happened with one of my old friends (That was a mermaid) it was the funniest thing ever.

'' guys it's getting late I should probably head back home before Niall and the others figure out I'm gone'' I smile to them and wave.

''We can swim you back, that way we know where you live and we can come over tomorrow'' Emma smile, I nod and we all head back to the beach.

When we reach shore we all drag our tails out of the water to dry. I hold my fist above my tail and wait for it to steam dry. The other girls look at me shocked. ''What?'' I ask them. They look from my hand to my tail then back up to my face. I smile at them, ''I'm just using my power to heat the water on my tail so it will dry'' I explain to them. They nod and go back to sitting there once I'm dry my legs appear again, u stand up and walk over to the other girls.

''Need some help?'' I ask glancing to their tails. The laugh and nod. I hold my fist above their tail and in a matter if seconds all if their tails are dried and gone, leaving them with legs. They smile at me and thank me, ''no problem that what friends are for'' I say. The stand up and we all link arms. We walk along the side of the water making sure no one got wet by the slash of the cool waves crashing on shore.

'' bye guys'' Emma calls as she walks away towards a house. '' see you guys later'' Alicia says walking towards the house next to Emma's, ''the girls and I have a beach day starting at 1, be there'' avery calls as she walks to the house next to Alicia's, and mine. I smile because we all live beside each other

Emma's house, then Alicia's house, then Avery's, and lastly mine.

I walk over to my new home, and decide wether I should try (key word TRY) to get up to the balcony, or should I just go through the front door, it I could go through a window a pray that I find my way back to my room before one of the boys see me.

The window it is.

I open one of the first story window and climb in. Looking around I notice that the room I'm in is some kind of music room. There's every Instrument that you could ever dream of playing, and a recording room. I smile (mental note: come here tomorrow) I quickly walk out of the room and I know where I am, even though this place is so freaking huge and I just got here today I manages to remember my way through this house (more like a maze)
