Explaining.

Hi. My name is Roxane, but everyone calls me Rex. I believe I was born in the wrong body. I shouldn't be labelled as 'she','her' etc. But they don't understand. And by they,I don't just mean my class mates,I mean everyone, family and all. But I have some explaining to do to my mum.

So ever since I was a young girl,I've always imaged having short hair- and I mean really short hair: boy short. So today I decided to do it. When mum went out to get the shopping,I went into the bathroom, put my beanie on and cut most of the hair hanging out of it off. I love my new look, but I have a feeling my mum won't. The thing is,she only cares about her opinion. For example, the other day we went shopping for clothes as my cousin was coming round. It was horrifying.

"Oh Roxane, look at this flowery dress! Your cousin and Aunt would love to see you in this!"

Hah,I'm sure they would mum,but there's no chance. There was this T-shirt I thought was pretty cool ( from the boy section) and this was the reaction I got:
" OH ROXANE PUT THAT HIDEOUS THING AWAY! For gods sake I can't do anything can I? Why can't you be a normal daughter for just one day Roxane? Not even one! It's unbelievable, this disgusting behaviour. Your cousin Rose is a much better example of a 15 year old teenager. Grow up!"

It hurts. I don't know how I'm going to explain, but I'll find a way. It hurts badly though, especially that coming from your own mother.
