-Nefertiti POV
"Are you sure you won't need your casting stones?" Laura holds up my pouch, which doesn't do much to halt my magic packing up my belongings from around our cottage.
"I'll need them in my carry on." I point to my purse somewhere in the swirling mess.
Laura whispers an incantation and my purse flies towards her. She catches it and places the pouch in the center pocket.
"How does my suitcase look?" I gesture to the handiwork of magic concluding.
"I can still feel the aura of your book of shadows, I'll center it. You should be able to catch your flight in two hours." She pouts restraining her sadness.
To answer the question flying through your head, yes, we are witches. That name holds so much power. Especially since we lived in Salem, Massachusetts with our coven. I have to go back home for personal reasons even though I'm HWIC, head witch in charge. Although I'll miss it, Laura, my best friend, will be "in charge". I trust she will keep order. After a hot shower, I pull on some black pants, my black bralette, and my black hoodie. The girls drive me in the van since I shipped my vehicle to California when I was first contacted. My coven asks me questions about Beacon Hills. I tell them it's a simple, quaint, quiet town that I wouldn't suggest imperializing.
"Why not? I mean if it's a supernatural hub like you claim." Princess scoffs; we gave her that name since she has an attitude and the grace of one.
"It's dominantly werewolves, witches were never welcomed there. I'll be fine since my family isn't in the know about the supernatural." I smile softly.
"How do you and Scotty look so different though?" Imogen asks, her name was a result of her innocent and sweet nature, she is one of our oldest.
"I'm a bastard. Raphael didn't control himself, but we can't choose our parents. My mum died after successfully activating my witch gene, and Melissa cared for me always." I am crying from how much I'll miss the girls.
I hug everyone and they drive off quick not to get a ticket. I enter the airport, then go to the airline check in. I check my red suitcase and keep my black purse as my carry on. The man at the kiosk weighs it and I pay in cash. After receiving my tickets, I take my time going through TSA and look at the directory board for my gate. I grab a smoothie on the way to the gate which changed and check in before seeing they also pushed me back to the plane.
"Is there anything you can do?" I ask the man without powers.
He rolls his eyes, shakes his head, and types slower.
"Alex." I hum ensnaring his gaze.
He's under my influence now,
"First class, seat 1A has been available. You're going to give me the complimentary upgrade for the customer service." I blow a kiss.
He nods and exchanges my tickets without charging me. I take a seat and m finish my sandwich from Panera Bread with smile. They begin boarding and I follow after servicemen, elderly, disabled, and unaccompanied minors. The seat is plush and I bite back a satisfied eye roll.
"Good evening, this is Flight SL8626, from Salem, Massachusetts to Beacon Hills, California. The flight is nonstop, 6 hours 16 minutes, clear skies. I am your Captain, Mr. Dean Locke, and your co-captain is Mr. Benjamin Dell. Enjoy your flight." His voice speaks over the announcement system.
I put on my over the head headphones and feel the plane take off within the hour. A glass of champagne and some dessert is served, then I pass out.
