Work, work, work, work, work, work. It sort of seemed to just continue. 9 'til 5, work, work, work. It wasn't even as if I had a good job, it was just cleaning tables and floors in Jamie's Ice Cream Parlour. Nothing fancy.

I remember that day though really clearly, and as I cleaned table number 9. Wait...let me check. Yeah, table number 9, that whole day just kept pushing its way forward in my mind. I couldn't ignore it, so I just decided to let my mind wonder. I didn't have to think, I mean I was cleaning a table, what thinking did that require?

Basically it was on a Wednesday. And literally Wednesday could not be a shittier day. I work 4 extra hours and I only get one hour lunch break, half compared to my usual two hour break. But I was just moping the floor when this girl walked in, I didn't take much notice of her at first, apart from the odd thought of "Damn, she's hot.", but I just thought she was a normal customer. She looked a bit lost walking up to the counter, she sort of stood there changing position every 3 seconds, leaning on the counter, stood up straight, bent over slightly then back to leaning on the counter, it made me chuckle a little. Then after a few minutes of wandering up and down the counter desk she wondered up to me "Sorry, but I'm assuming that you work here. I'm here because I start my job today as a waitress, I'm filling in for Hannah whilst she's on maternity leave I think? I just wondered where the manager or person in charge was? I'm Jo by the way." God, she was cute, but not the usual 'cute' if you get me. She had a few visible tattoos on her arms, ear piercings and a nose piercing, brown slightly curly hair, bright blue eyes, tall, she wasn't pale, but she wasn't tanned, sort of in between the two and she had perfect skin and a gorgeous smile. "Hey, I'm Calum, yeah I work here. Jane is out the back, I'll show you through." As we walked through the kitchen on the way to the back where the big freezers were kept I made conversation "So then, where are you from? You're not from around these parts are you?" Referring to Australia. She had the sweetest accent I'd ever heard, I think it was British but I decided to ask just encase. "Good old UK" she winked. "I'm assuming you're from these parts then, I mean with a strong Ozzie accent like that!"she said showing off that beautiful smile of hers again, I smiled back "Yeah, well Melbourne originally but moved here to Sydney when two of my band mates moved here."

"Oh, you're in a band!?!"

"Yeah 5 Seconds of Summer we like to call ourselves, not got very far yet, but we only started out seriously a few months ago." I shrugged

"Wow, that's so cool. What do you play?" She enquired

"Ever heard of bass guitar"

"Of course"

"Well yeah, I play that. Do you play any instruments?"

"Yeah guitar, both acoustic and electric and I will sometimes get on the drum kit."

"Awesome! You in a band or anything?"

"Nahh, I like to show off to friends and family in my room, nothing proper and serious. But my mate Morgan will come round sometimes and we have the occasional jamming session, if you know what I mean."

"Sounds fun."

"Yeah it is."

I took her through a small wooden creaky door and grabbed the torch from the hook beside the non working light switch. "Here take this." I said handing it over to her.

"Ahh, cheers." I grabbed another torch from the hook and we walked on through shining the torches around until I saw Jane moving crates and heavy boxes around. "Jane, this is Jo, covering for Hannah."

"Oh yes, of course, lovely to meet you Jo, thank you for filling in with such short notice!" Jane put out her hand to Jo and she politely shook it even though it was covered in stinking wet alcohol from moving barrels around. "Hiya, nice to meet you too, it's fine, it was nice to hear back from you." Jo said. The more I listened to her speak and just the way her accent just rolled off her tongue just made me 'like like' her that little bit more. She turned and gave me a little cheeky smile. But I'd just met the girl, it was crazy!

I got off the bus and right in front of me was Jamie's Ice Cream Parlour, I tried to push the door open before I realized that it said pull, so avoiding further embarrassment I pulled open the door, stepped in, composed myself and rubbed my hands against my cheeks quickly to avoid the redness of embarrassment spreading all over my face. I saw this guy moping the floor and a few people were dotted around at individual tales eating great massive ice cream sundaes. I was looking around subtly to try and spot the person in charge as I walked up towards the counter desk. When I got their I just got really nervous. I don't know why though, maybe it's because I didn't know who I was meant to be speaking to or something? I'd never got nervous on my first day or starting a new job before. I couldn't stand still, which I admit, probably made me look like a bit of an idiot. I couldn't see anyone behind the counter or anyone I thought looked in charge, so I went over to the guy cleaning the floor, I saw him giggle a couple minutes ago so he looked friendly. "Sorry, but I'm assuming you work here, I'm here because I start my job today as a waitress, I'm filling in for Hannah whilst she's on maternity leave I think? I just wondered where the manager or person in charge was? I'm Jo by the way." I said. Okay, now I realized how hot he was. He was tanned, tall, brown soft looking hair, hypnotizing brown eyes and the cutest pair of lips ever! "Hey, I'm Calum, yeah I work here. Jane is out the back, I'll show you through." He said.

He led me past the kitchen and through a white door. We just kept walking until he started to make conversation. He was originally from Melbourne but moved to Sydney a couple of years ago to be in his band he's in 5 Minutes of Winter, or something like that? I can't really remember. After a little silence killer conversation he led me through this old creaky door, and handed me a torch as it was nearly pitch black. He grabbed one too and we shone them around the room until we saw a figure moving crates or barrels of alcohol around I assumed. Calum introduced to Jane. She thanked me for covering for Hannah and put out her hand. I shook it, but it was covered in alcohol and my hand was drenched in it now. "Hiya, nice to meet you too, it's fine, it was nice to hear back from you." I replied. I swung my head around to see if Calum was still there, and he gave me a cute smile, so I smiled back. He was hot, not going to lie. He was really hot.

It was 5 O'clock and time to leave work. I cleared a table full of iced cream sundae glasses and went to the cloakroom to change. I grabbed my bag from my locker and took my top off. I was so sweaty, it's was embarrassing. I grabbed my towel from out my bag and wiped the sweat dry. Just then Jo walked in. Great. I am topless and am groping a pink towel covered in my own sweat. Smooth, nice one Cal! "Oh god, sorry!" Jo stuttered apologetically as the backed up into the doorway. "It's okay, just as long as you don't mind, my sweaty towel, my CK whities, referring to my Calvin Klein white boxers, and obviously my muscular abs!" I joked.

"I'm sure I'll manage!" She joked back. Sexy...
