There she was, simply existing on the rounded and bumpy beginning of a expertly crafted valley. Just feeling the wind whispering around her body. The Hatter, Maddie, looked to the fabric of sky and the rugged spires of the carved rock. She watched as the pink steam from her tea seemed to fuse the two where they became one and created a jagged rosy line across the horizon. Soft footsteps slowly approached her, the maker of the sound sitting next to her and smiling just as gently as her footfall in the lush periwinkle and cornflower blue grass. "Isn't today just splendid?" Alice commented as she looked up into the endless stretch of sky, watching the far off fireworks from another tea party. Maddie tilted her head back as far as it would go before replying " quite the contrary dear, you see ever since you left..." she trailed off and sighed. Alice turned her head to face The Hatter in an attempt to comfort her. "Listen, can you hear them?" Alice asked all of a sudden, straining her ears to catch the wavering voices that intertwined with the wind. Strong gusts of wind propelled the voices towards Maddie, slowly they started wailing for her to follow them. Maddie then lept up and ran towards the fading voices, trying to reach the last glimmer of sound. She franticly chased the frail words to the rough edge of the cliff, waiting for a sign that they where still present....
"Maddie?" ...
"Madds, you there?"
"MADDIE!"
With a gasp The Mad Hatter flinched back at the loudness of the sound. They lost thier balance and slowly tipped backwards over the edge of the cliff, the air whipping around them and...
"Maddie?... Oh my god Maddie! You're awake!"
