(Courtney's POV)
I watched backstage as Ross jumped up and down on stage to F.E.E.L. G.O.O.D. I smiled. He loved this. Being on stage almost every night singing away and just listening to the fans sing along to their songs.
Ross- "cause you make me feel good"
The music stopped. They all put down their instruments after Riker thanked the crowd for coming to the show and they met up in the middle of the stage. They stood together in a line and they bowed. Then music started playing and they walked around the front of the big stage to hold the fan's hands. After about 3 minutes, they all ran off stage and the lights went down.
Stormie- Alright girls, lets go
Me and Savannah(Vanni) followed Stormie downstairs and through the building to the green room backstage. We wore VIP Backstage passes so we got through easily and quickly. Stormie opened the door and we walked in to find Ratliff and the Lynch boys except Ryland all shirtless and drinking water. Rydel was most likely in the bathroom taking off her make- up and getting changed. I walked over to the black couch in the corner where Ross was sat.
Ross- Hey Babe
Court- Hey
I sat down next to him and he leaned forward to place the now empty bottle on the table in front of us. He sat back and held my left hand.
Court- The show was amazing
Vanni- Yeah it really was
Riker- Thanks
Then the bathroom door opened and out walked Rydel in jeans and an R5 hoodie. She put her other clothes from the show into a bag and sat down next to me.
Rydel- Hey, how did you enjoy tonight?
Court- Oh we were just saying it was amazing
Rydel- Awesome
Court- Yeah I mean we did go on our phones a few times but when we were watching, you guys were really good
Ross squeezed my hand causing me to look sideways. He spoke quietly but loud enough for everyone to hear him. I knew what he was about to say.
Ross- Did you read any comments?
Court- Ross...
Ross- Well did you?
Court- Yes, but how can I not? They pop up on my phone every 5 minutes and what am I supposed to do? Just quit social media?
Ross- No but Court you promised you wouldn't look at what they were saying about us
Court- I know but I can't help it, when people are constantly commenting on the way you live your life and who is in your life..you notice it
Ross- You know that it isn't true right? Whatever they are saying, it isn't true
I nodded slowly and looked sideways at him.
Court- I know but it's just hard to ignore them
Ross- I promise you Court, nothing that they will ever say to us will ever affect our relationship, alright? Nothing will ever stop me from wanting to be with you or from loving you
Court- Promise?
Ross- I promise princess
He kissed the side of my head as I laid it on his shoulder. He then put his arm around me and pulled me closer. I smiled. He was right. I was stupid to let anyone get to me. They were just people behind a computer writing words on a screen. They meant nothing because as long as I had Ross, I was fine.
Rydel- I love your relationship
Ross- Thanks Dells
Rydel- No but seriously, like you are both so strong
Court- What do you mean?
Rydel- Well every day you have to deal with strangers that criticise everything that you do yet you both just ignore it and get on with your lives as if nothing ever happened
Vanni- Yeah she's right, whenever I get a nasty comment on Instagram or on Twitter about mine and Riker's relationship, it drives me crazy for days but you Court, I mean alright it does annoy you for a long time but not as long as me..you just accept it and move on
Court- Thanks Guys but to be honest, I have no choice but to accept it, I mean if I don't then they win and they are able to do what they want which is to bring me down and there's no point in arguing back, it just causes negative drama that is just not needed
Rydel- And that my friend is why you deserve an award for being a hero
I laughed.
Court- Thanks
I leant my head against Ross's chest and smiled. He rested his head on mine. He squeezed me tightly. He whispered to me so that no one else heard.
Ross- Promise me that you will ignore the comments and that you won't read them anymore?
I nodded against his chest.
Court- I Promise
Ross- Thank you
From that day onwards, it got better. I did what I promised and ignored all of the comments. However, sometimes the hate from online can be recieved in person too and it hurts way much more. Someone said something to me that changed my whole perspective on everything. On the World. My Life. People. Our Relationship. Ross. It all.
