Chapter Three

It's officially time to leave for America.

I already know I'm gonna hate it.

Yesterday was the day we said goodbye to all of our friends, and the day Allison dumped her boyfriend of 6 years. Their relationship started out as puppy love in elementary school, but it grew from that and they were really in love. I feel bad for her.

"Mac. Come on we gotta go."

I turned around and looked at Jackson.

"Okay."

I didn't recognize my own voice. It was cracked and quiet, from crying all night last night.

All of our stuff was shipped out the other day, so it should be there by the time we get there. The house was already furnished, so we just had to pack everything else.

I got into the car, which was gonna be shipped afterwards as well, and leaned my head on Cameron's shoulder.

I'm gonna miss this place. Everything I've ever known was not only in England, but in this very house.

*Skip plane ride and security*

As we landed in Virginia I looked out the window.

Everything looked boring.

As we got off the plane and got out luggage, nobody said a word. Just like when we got in a taxi and went to our new home.

Everybody was silent.

As we pulled up to the new house my jaw dropped in amazement.

It was huge!

I jumped out of the car, running towards the door and throwing it open.

It was beautiful! The door opened up to a huge room entry way.

On the left was the living room. It was a step down from the other parts of the house, which was pretty cool. There was a white carpet, with black furniture. The coffee table was a sleek black, along with the end tables and entertainment center. The TV hung on the wall was enormous, and there was a beautiful corner fireplace beside one of the couches.

The kitchen was a normal, huge kitchen. With the exception of the living room, downstairs there were white laminate tiles, and there was a huge pantry, which means we can hold lots of food in there.

As soon as I spotted the steps I ran up them, wanting to get the best room. The master was downstairs, so there were four bedrooms. I went into the farthest one, and I instantly knew I made the right choice.

The walls were a baby blue color, and the whole upstairs had black hardwood flooring. My bedspread was a baby pink color, along with a cute little rug in the middle of y floor. All of my furniture was white, as well as my curtains.

My balcony was connected to another bedroom, and the house next door had one that was like a foot away from ours. We live in a cookie-cutter neighborhood, so there were two doors leading to that balcony as well.

"Mac. You picked the good one." I turned around, seeing Cameron there.

"We've got a connected bathroom, and a connected walk in closet. Allison and Jackson got the smaller pair of bedrooms."

I laughed, giving Cameron a high-five as he gave me a thumbs up.

Well, Joe wants to start unpacking, the truck just arrived.

"Need some help?"

I looked behind me as Jo spoke, nearly dropping the box as I did so.

"Nope." I continued walking, bringing my last box into my room and setting it on the floor.

"Lord my back is gonna hurt tomorrow."

I sighed as I began to unpack all of my boxes. After unpacking all of my clothing into my closet or dresser, I decided to walk out onto my balcony.

As I walked out there I was hit with warmth. It's the beginning of the summer, so I have plenty of time to make friends. I wonder who lives next door? I hope there not jackasses.

"Nice outfit."

I opened my eyes to see a boy, around my age staring at me from the other balcony next door. He was really cute.

I looked down at my pj shorts and One Direction t-shirt.

My face turned beet red as I looked back up to see him smiling.

"My name's Jacob. What's yours?"

"Mackenzie. But my friends call me Mac."

"Well, Mackenzie, do you wanna get dressed and go to the park or something?"

I thought about it. It would be a good idea to make friends, but I still have to unpack and everything. Screw it.

"Sure. Let me get dressed though." I smiled and waved, going back inside as he chuckled behind me.

I made sure my curtains were shut before stripping out of my pajamas. I looked through my closet for a few minutes before settling with a pair of dark washed booty shorts and a light grey muscle tank. I put my hair in a ponytail, braiding the sides and pulling them back into my ponytail.

"Mum! I'm going to the park with the neighbor! Be back soon!" I shouted, slipping my phone into my back pocket, along with some cash.

"Be back by 6:30, the neighbors want us over for dinner, the mum just brought some cookies and invited us. She has a son your age."

"Mum. The son asked me to go with him to the park."

I looked at the clock, it was 3:00. Plenty of time.

"Okay. Have fun. Make some friends!"

"Got it!" I shouted, slipping on my grey vans and heading outside. Jacob was there in a t-shirt and basketball shorts, black vans on his feet.

"Hey! You good to go?"

"Yeah."

"Can you skate?" I looked at Jacob, he had two skateboards in his hands.

"Yeah. Mine is still packed." Jacob nodded, handing me one and taking the other and putting it on the ground.

"Thank god. Everybody uses penny boards these days. I hate them."

I laughed, agreeing with Jacob as we sped down the street and to the park.

This is gonna be a fun day.
