His smile seemed to light up the room. His golden eyes sparkled like sunny kaleidoscopes, his blonde hair falling messily over his face occasionally. He wore a beautiful, galaxy themed scarf, along with a golden jacket that matched his eyes. Every room he walked into seemed to get a little happier.
"Thanks, Mabel!" He said, laughing a little. He had the most adorable laugh, any girl would've fallen head over heels for him in an instant. The girl standing at the desk blushed a little, returning the smile. She punched a few lines of text into the computer in front of her, before returning her gaze to the blonde, who almost looked lost. He looked like he didn't belong, but he didn't seem to notice.
"Alright, Bill. That's everything, and I've scheduled the next refill," She gestured to the bag that the boy held in his hand that was filled with half a dozen new medications. Her face grew serious, and her eyes narrowed. "Don't do anything stupid. You're a kid yet, you better not get any dumb ideas. You know what I mean."
He stared for a moment, then he just smiled again. This one, though, appeared forced and weaker. He knew what she meant, but he steered the conversation a little. "You say I'm a kid, but you're only two years older than me. And who knows if that's even true!" He tried to keep smiling. He tried to make it sound like he was just joking. Honestly, he had no clue when his birthday was, his entire childhood was a blur...
Ever since the tragedy.
"You sound like my brother. Always complaining," She interrupted his thoughts, resting her head on her hand. She'd been working at the hospital desk since 8 in the morning, and it was about 7 at night now. Her shift should've been over an hour ago, but she stayed to give Bill his medications. He always came to pick them up on the way home from wherever he worked, or god knows whatever he did most of the day. But he always seemed happy and bright. He always wanted everyone around him to be happy, too.
"Sorry. Hey, you've never introduced me to your brother. You always talk about him, but he's still a mystery to me." Bill crossed his arms. "Why haven't you introduced me to him? You've known me for three years, Mabel. Ever since you've been working here."
"Well...he's not really the social type. Rather, he's an antisocial bookworm. I can't get him out of the house most of the time, let alone out to have fun. Believe me, I talk about you to him, too. But he gets some dumb ideas." Mabel grabbed her purse, fishing through it for her car keys. She'd done what she needed to do, now she just wanted to go home and rest.
"Oh...I see." Bill lowered his gaze, his smile fading. He turned and walked out of the lobby, stepping out into the cold. Dumb ideas, huh.. He thought to himself. Well, there sure was a lot of conclusions that someone would come to if they heard about me. So there's nothing to get worked up over.
He forced himself to stop thinking about it. The air was bitter, his breath creating white vapor clouds. The side of him that no one saw was beginning to consume him again. The beautiful, magnificent sadness had returned, enveloping him in it's wings of despair. Just as it always had.
Bill was so caught up in the sadness that he didn't pay attention to where he was walking. He nearly screamed when he ran into something- or someone. "I-I'm sorry!" The person said.
It was a boy who appeared to be about Bill's age. He had chestnut brunette hair, and the prettiest amber eyes that Bill had ever seen. He wore a blue and white vest, and underneath he wore a crimson red T-shirt. For some reason, he looked...
Bill stood speechless. He scanned the boy over. He looks so familiar... Bill thought. Have I met you before?
"I'm sorry, I've got to go." He pushed past the blonde, walking in the direction that Bill had come from. Bill just stood, watching him disappear into the hospital lobby. Eventually, he shook the thought of the boy off and began walking home again. Wherever home was.
He stared at the ground as he walked. There was something different now. Something had changed. The sadness he felt...was replaced. And with what, he didn't know.
Whatever it was, it was sure to end in tragedy.

QUICK LIL' NOTE.
Yes, this is my second Billdip. I'm hoping that my writing is improving, it's kinda harder for me to write romance than it is to write original stories with my own characters, but I still enjoy these. The inspiration for this story came from a magnifcent writer, aka frisky-frisk. Check them out! They're one of my favorite writers on here now ^^ anyways, this story is going to be based off of various songs that appear on my playlist. This chapter was based off of A Sadness Runs Through Him by The Hoosiers. This is supposed to be a sad AU, my own I guess. Everything about Bill's tragedy will be explained later. Alright, thats all I gotta say, bye!
