"Sanju beta...there is no milk at home, tell your papa to buy milk when he'll go to the market", I heard Sanyukta, my wife telling our 8 years old daughter Sanjana who was in her room. I was just sitting in the hall,on the chair reading newspaper but still instead of telling it directly to me Sanyu decided to tell it through our daughter. Sanyukta isn't talking to me from the time we had a fight yesterday...it wasn't exactly a fight, you know,it was just that I didn't allow her to watch her favourite T.V programme. What? Stop snickering at me guys...I know I shouldn't have don't that! But it was a match between India and Pakistan...how could I miss it!! But as they say.."to get something you have to lose something", huh...here my wife was angry because I chose an 'exciting,super-duper cricket match' over a 'boring daily soap T.V show'!

"Papa..please get the milk when you'll go..."

"Yes beta...I heard it", I cut off my daughter who was repeating the same thing her mother had told.

Walking towards the kitchen I saw Sanyu preparing breakfast, leaning on the kitchen counter I proceeded to speak to her,"Sanyu...why are you not talking? I'm sorry"

Instead of replying she continued making dough for chappatis and ignored me. Lose hair strands were falling on her face which were irritating her. She tried removing the strands but as her both the hands were occupied she couldn't. Taking the chance I moved behind her and with my fingers I curled them behind her ear. She flinched at my touch. I could see a light blush on her face.I slipped my hands onto her waist to which she straightened her back. It had been almost ten years that we were married but still even my touching her cheeks would cause such an effect on her...and I loved the fact that I was the one causing it. But before I could talk to her she removed my hands from her waist and continued doing her work.

"Sanju...tell papa not to talk to me and waste my time...I'm busy!",I gasped at what she said...'I'm wasting her time?!', Hearing this I became hundred percent sure that just apologizing wasn't enough,I had to do something else to convince her. There was no use trying to talk to her now.

The only person who could save me from this situation was my daughter,Sanjana! I ran over towards her room for her help.

"Sanju...see na your mumma is not talking to me,she's angry with me...",I pouted my lips to show my sadness.

Seeing me sad she immediately placed her hand on my cheek,"offo papa..mumma is still not talking to you?  you don't know anything about women, do you?",I was surprised at her reply...indeed she was smart for her age.

"...but papa, why fear when your daughter is here,I'll think of something",saying this she smiled showing off her white pearls. I knew she would help me...afterall she is my daughter! :D

After a moment of thinking, sanju clicked her fingers and looked at me, "papa...I've got an idea!",she said with a naughty smile on her face. Looking at her smile, I knew this was not going to be an easy task. But as they say 'Happy Wife means Happy Life!'

By the time it was five p.m, Sanjana went to Ritika's place along with her mom. Ritika was Sanyukta's best friend from college and shared everything with her. According to Sanju's plan she would take Sanyukta to Ritika's place so that I can get some time to plan a surprise for Sanyu and then Sanjana would stay at Ritika's place  eventually giving me and Sanyu some time to spend with each other. As easy as the plan sounds, planning a surprise is the most difficult part and unfortunately it is the main part of the plan which is still left to be executed!

After thinking a lot, I finally decided to make Sanyu's favourite food for dinner. I don't know to cook but everything has it's first time right?! Grabbing my phone I quickly surfed through the internet to look over the recipe of palak paneer and chappati, her favourite. After almost a couple of hours of cooking I looked at the food prepared and to me...well it looked okay...I mean after burning my hands a few times, cutting my finger with the knife, making different kinds of maps of non-existent places while making chappatis and after messing up the whole kitchen to make dinner...well I was satisfied with whatever I made.

Next I cleaned up the kitchen and the hall and bought a butterscotch icecream, it was her favourite... if my food fails definitely this icecream will save me! Leaving a sigh I finally sat down on the chair to rest when I heard my phone ringing.... Oh good, now I'll have to get up and walk over across the room to take the call, but I am so tired... god why can't phones walk or fly for that matter! gah..you'll be probably thinking I'm stupid... !

Grabbing the phone I saw Sanyukta's name flashing on the screen, My eyes widened at the thought that Sanyu was finally gonna talk to me, I did a merry dance in my mind. But to my utter disappointment it wasn't Sanyu on the phone.

"Papa...can I stay here please? Mom is not allowing me",Sanju whined.

"No!", stiffling my laughter I told her just to irritate her, a minute later I heard her asking her mom something, probably to go out and talk to me more freely so that Sanyu couldn't hear our conversation

"Papa!!!!", she shouted. Not able to control any more, I burst out in laughter. I could imagine the bored expression on her face.

"Don't laugh or else I'll cancel this plan and come home with mom and then all your plans will get flopped...do you want that?",she snapped at me, I could see my desires crushing down. No!!! Then how will I "manaofy" Sanyu!

"Sanju beta,my sweetheart...don't do that please, I promise I won't make fun of you!", I requested her sweetly...hoping she would understand my situation. Seconds later I heard someone laughing loudly from the other side of the phone. Damn!! She was definitely my daughter, this time she was the one who made a fool out of me and here I thought I was smart! -_-

"Haan haan enough !", I huffed out irritatingly,"now send your mom here fast!"

"Sure papa", she said it as if making fun of me," all my blessings are with you...make me proud and win mom's heart!",she chuckled, I could literally imagine her raising her hand to bless me.

"Haan haan dadi amma(grandma) ...now go fast!"

"Sayonnara papa...! have a goooood night!"

"I surely will! now stop teasing me...it isn't my first night!", I chuckled at her," Sayyonara senorita!"
