7 years later...

Chapter 2

Nate and I walked into the school gates. We were stopped by Principal Hardman.

"And where do you think you are going?" he said.

"Hello sir, heading into school." Nate said.

"Well there is no school today."

We looked around us and there was literally no one on the school court yard.

"But sir, I'm meant to deliver my speech to the 7th and 8th grade."

"Well I'm sorry but that shan't be happening."

Then we heard singing and music playing from the announcement speakers. Suddenly the school glass doors swung open. My cheerleading friends came through doing a routine I wasn't familiar with. Then the football team ran out followed by the entire school. Jared came running towards me and picked me up onto his shoulders

. Nate's girlfriend and my best friend Zeya came and took hold of Nate's hand and guided us in to the middle of the courtyard. Jared gently put me down and backed away. The school choir and singers started singing happy birthday to us. When they had finished Lola wheeled over a huge chocolate cake on a trolley. Everyone chanted,

"3, 2, 1."

Nate and I blew out the 16 candles. Always wishing for the same thing. To be able to remember our real parents faces. You see, when Nate and I were 1 years old, our parents disappeared. We only found out 8 years ago, just before Chris and Lola adopted us that our parents died in a car accident. We obviously don't remember their faces. So every year, for the past eight years we have been wishing for the same thing.

Then all of a sudden, I had a weird vision.

Star of vision

A man and a woman. Standing still, stuck in a block of ice. In a dark room. In a sort of Lab.

End of vision.

I looked up at Nate and our eyes met. Then he said something. Or rather he was thinking it but I could hear it. He didn't even open his mouth.

'Do I tell Kim what I saw?'

'Omg Nate I can hear you. Can you hear me?'

'How on earth are you doing that?"

'I don't know I'm just thinking it.'

'Well did you see that?'

'What? That man and woman in the ice?'

Suddenly our telepathy or whatever you want to call it was disrupted by the sound of cheering. Then an announcement was made.

"Happy Birthday to our two presidents. I'm afraid the celebration has to end here but I have just been informed by Chris, The twins' dad, that there is a party at their mansion at 7:00pm today and everyone is invited. So can everyone please head to class. Thank you."

Jared, Amber and Zeya came up to us as Nate and I gave them all a bear hug knowing that this whole reception was their idea.

"Hey Kim! So how did you like that huh?" Jared said.

"What happened to no fuss?"

"Erm how can I let my beautiful girlfriend come to school without a big fuss? I was going to hire a limousine but Amber here talked me out of it."

"Well anyways it wasn't just for your beautiful girlfriend. It was also for my amazing boyfriend." Zeya said taking hold of Nate's hand. Nate kissed her on the cheek and went into the building. The rest of us went in and Jared stopped me and waited for the others to leave.
