The Angel Discontent
So now please don't bear ill will
to this lowly necromancer
But tonight the dead are summoned
and my questions will be answered
They chant:
"Hallowed temple, Godrace caller
Tell us what thy bidding be."
I would know the secrets locked within the God-Mind Keep
Then they all begin in unison
a thousand dead souls sing as one
revealing sacred lessons
After which I'm freed for flying further
They sing:
"Absence of the heart is sometimes helpful to the soul
And absence of the soul means that it's talking to your goal
And absence of a goal means you're waiting still to try
but you'd best try something soon or a part of you will die
Although if you still don't fear dying then just open up your arms
You'll find it more inviting but with just a bit less charm
And yet if charm is what you seek
then simply look for its appeal
It's the beauty used to represent
the ugliness you feel
I am sad to say that to this day much ugliness I feel
See there's this part of me that died, and yet resides
inside my head
One night I met this part of me and such sick things it said
(Sweet things it said)
It spoke words that scarred my soul
Of love and hate in equal measure
And of timeless ways to forget both in search of greater treasure
(Creator's Pleasure)
Its cold and loveless words were so withdrawn as to enthrall
But I took caution for it likes not much, and humans least of all
(Likes to watch you fall)
It will kick you when you're down and you'll never hear a sound
Save your will as it is breaking, your resolve as it is draining
And your life as it gets crushed
to then watch it all get brushed away
See the beast came home that day
But at the core there's something more
and I still haven't found the source
I'm mesmerized within my eyes
by a force that never lies
But lies in wait for other climes
and sees through worlds of separate times
Yet the me that others see
somehow is not the one I've known
They say "He speaks when no one's home
that's why his voice rings all alone
You know he doesn't understand what's going on"
