------------------------------------Jace’s P.O.V-
The hospital my parent’s had been taking to happened to be the one we passed on our way to our date. I had ruined the date. I would deal with that later but right now all I could think about was my parents, lying in hospital beds. I had no idea what happened to them or if they were okay. All I knew was they had been in a car crash. I rushed out the car with Aiden following quickly behind. I went straight to the reception and the lady looked up at me with an emotionless face.
‘How can I help you?’ She asked with a fake smile.
‘My parent’s were in a car crash, they-’ I couldn’t continue as I started cry. Aiden pulled me into him before continuing the conversation.
‘His parents were in a car crash. Their names are Linda and John Jackson’ He told her.
‘Yes, take a seat and a doctor should be with you soon’
‘Okay, thanks’
I managed to compose myself enough to walk over to the waiting area and sit down. I sunk down into the chair as Aiden sat beside me, he took hold of my hand and rubbed circles on the back of it with his thumb. He didn’t say anything and I was glad for that. I didn’t want to hear ‘It will be okay’ and ‘Everything will be fine’ because that would be false hope, we don’t know anything about what happened except they were in a car crash. They don’t deserve this, they were only going out for dinner, why did this have to happen to them. We had been sitting for about ten minutes when a doctor came out.
‘Jace Jackson?’ He said and I immediately stood up. He looked at me with a sad look on his face.
‘Your parents were in a head on collision with another driver. The other driver was under the influence of alcohol and died on impact. You father has a broken arm and fractured leg as well as concussion. He has a lot of cuts and bruises but he should heal up just fine..’ He finished speaking but there was something missing.
‘What about my mom?’ His look told me everything. Tears flowed freely down my face as I grabbed onto Aiden and sobbed into his chest.
‘Your mother had a lot of injuries and was in critical condition. She needed immediate surgery but she didn’t make it through. She told me to tell you that she loved you. I’m sorry for your loss. I’ll come back and tell you when you can see your father’
He gave one last sad smile before turning and walking away. I couldn’t move, it was too much. I couldn’t speak, and I couldn’t breathe. I started gasping for air and felt a little dizzy. Aiden quickly sat me down on the chair and leaned down in front of me, telling me how to breathe. I followed his actions and managed to breathe again. All of this happened because one man decided to drive while he had been drinking. My dad is hurt and my mom is dead because of that. I felt empty. My mom and I were never extremely close but we were still close, I could tell her anything but now she was gone. I wiped my face and turned to look at Aiden who had taken a seat beside me. He was holding my hand but looking straight ahead with a blank look. It was only then that I noticed some tears on his face, my chest hurt at the sight. This was my fault. He’s crying because of me.
‘I’m sorry..’ I squeaked out. My voice raspy because I was crying. His head whipped round and his eyes met my own. His look was intense but I couldn’t look away.
