Mom seriously what do I do?"
"You buy her a bra! What else are you going to do?"
"Can you take her?"
"Tell you what. You, me, Ashley and Scarlett can all go together tomorrow."
"Fine. But she's going to be embarrassed."
"She'll be embarrassed with or without you. You need to talk to her about this you know. Have you given her the talk yet?"
"No! I figured I had a little time."
"Aren't you supposed to be a genius? Don't you know girls hit puberty earlier than boys?"
"Well no. I'm not a girl."
"Go talk to her Malcolm."
"Fine. Bye."
"Love you."
"Love you too mom. Bye."
I don't know how to do this. At times like this I wish I had remarried or atleast had a girlfriend. But I was to busy with my career as a lawyer and taking care of Scarlett. I don't know whether to get a book or just go for it. I think I'll just go for it.
I walked to Scarlett's room.
"Hey Scarlett, we need to talk about something."
Vanessa's POV
I've noticed Carlin has started developing. She's an early bloomer just like me. I knew it was time to talk to her. I couldn't help but feel bad for leaving Malcolm with my other girl. She's probably going through the same thing right now. But I can't worry too much about them. I have my life here in Nebraska. "Hey Carlin. We need to talk about something."
"What is it mom?"
"Carlin do you know what puberty is?"
"Sorta. It's like when all the gross stuff happens."
"Right. Well I think it's time to get you a bra!"
"Really you think so? I've been wanting one for a while but I didn't think I was ready!"
"You're ready. We can talk more in the car."
I explained to her all about periods and
stuff and she understood. She took it well. We were going to have a whole woman's day. We would go out to eat, get our hair done, buy bras, and get some feminine supplies for her to keep in her bathroom so she's prepared. We had a wonderful day. I'm so glad we are so close. I hope Malcolm is doing okay in this process. It must be hard for our girl in Florida.
