Broken Again

4: Lunch

After class was over, I headed to the lunch room. I wonder when Andrew was going to
be here.

I sat down at an empty table.

Opening my lunch box, I saw a sandwich and a bag of fruit. Thanks a ton mom.

I pushed it to the side and waited for Andrew and Lilac.

A few minutes later, Andrew came into the lunch room.

I motioned for him to sit down next to me.

"Hey Rika! How was your first class?"

"It was ok, pretty boring to be honest."

"Aw, well mine was awesome! I met this really nice guy named Nick. And I also met this girl."

I could have sworn I saw him blush when he mentioned the girl.

"Tell me about the girl! Is she nice, pretty, did you talk to her?" I tried to sound caring even though I was maybe a bit jealous. Maybe.

He started to blush more.

"W-Well her name is Ashley. She's the sweetest girl I have ever met. She's also super pretty."

My heart dropped a little. The sweetest girl?! I was his best friend! I remember him saying I was the sweetest girl.

Was I jealous?

Heck yes! My best friend, who I also had a crush on, likes another girl.

I didn't know what to say.

"Aw, that's nice."

He just sat there. Looking off into a wall. Probably thinking about her.

Lilac sat down next to me.

"Hey Rika! How was your day so far?"

"It was ok. How was yours?"

"AMAZING!! I met this girl named Samantha and she's really nice! And turns out, we have the same schedule and I also met this guy named Jake, and a girl named Eliza! They are dating and they have been together for 3 months..... She rambled on.

"Ok, ok Lilac! That's nice." I stopped her before she could talk any longer.

I was getting jealous of everyone having amazing days.

Ugh why couldn't I meet someone super nice, sweet, and attractive?

I guess that's just my luck.
