Dearest

I'm left to write poetry

You don't understand your beauty

Once you leave

I'm left to grieve

And write

You don't know the bright

Star you are

You are my star

Please stay

You keep me at bay

A poem every night

I don't want to lose sight

Of you

You are my glue

Please stay

I can't live a day

Without your soul

You are the bowl

That catches my blood

When my arms flood

Don't go

I'll hit my low

I will write

And fight

To keep you

Hear a few

Of my poems just for you

That's what I'll do

All I can do is write these words

Flying like the birds

You can't hear me

But I speak with sincerity

Every night

You are my bright light

Your trust is what I cherish

Love doesn't perish

I'll keep my promise

Honest

A poem every night

Let me be your light

I'll help you in this fight

Let me write

It'll be alright

Soon these words will be songs

There will be no more wrongs

My voice is real

No need to conceal

Music will reach your ears

No need to hide your fears

I won't let you go

Please don't lose control

Go to sleep with a smile on your face

You are full of grace

Every night

You'll shine bright

I'm tired

But you keep me wired

I'll stay up
