"Allow me to introduce myself. I am the earl, Alois Trancy." "Hazel Brooks. Demon." She replied, already beginning to walk away. "Wait a minute, where are you going?" 'Wherever I want to. I'm bored here." She responds with a roll of her eyes. "B- But! Wait!" Alois panicked. "Claude, stop her!" "Yes, your Highness." The butler reached into his coat and pulled out a set of golden butter knives, throwing them in her direction. Hazel caught on and merely flipped out of the way, avoiding each blow. "I said STOP her! Don't hurt her!" Alois pouted, kicking at him. "Yes, your Highness." Claude came after her instead, causing Hazel to make a break for it, but she wasn't fast enough. "HEY! Let me go!" She kicked as hard as she could, unable to wrestle free from the other demon's grip. "What gives, boy! What do you want with me?!" She demands when he caught up. "I want to invite you to my estate for a visit!" He smirks, happy with himself. "Why? What's the point?" "I'm just trying to be nice." He pouts again. "Well, STOP trying. I don't need anyone being nice to me. I don't need anyone." She growls, still kicking and trying to get out of Claude's grip. "Come on, it'll be fun! Let's get going." The earl tells his butler, since he would be the one forcing her along. The demon girl groaned, not pleased in the least at being captured, or being forced against her will. It made her feel weak. And she was NOT weak.
"So, you're a demon too, then?" Alois Trancy asked as he sat before Hazel about an hour later. She had given up on escape, at least for now. With that demon butler of his floating nearby, she knew she wouldn't have great chances. She glared at the blonde, wishing to be back on the streets again. "Yes...." "Tell me about yourself. Have you ever made a contract?" Hazel snorts. "I'm not that kind of demon. I don't make contracts. I live taking souls as I please." She boasts proudly. "Really? Can demons do that?" Alois asked with widened eyes, intrigued. "Doesn't matter. I do so, anyway." "Hmm..." He smirked again and crossed his legs, eyes never leaving her. "And you live on the streets?" "Yes. My whole life." Alois nodded, lost in his thoughts a moment. He gasps. "You should stay HERE!" He exclaims excitedly, jumping in her face with a grin. "Wh- What? NO!" Geez, what was with this boy? He changed personalities faster than anything! "But why?" He pouts. "Because, I live alone." She grouched. "I live independently." "But... maybe your life would be better if you worked here." "Hey, you said live, not WORK! I ESPECIALLY don't work for anyone but myself!" She was getting seriously annoyed with him now. "It'll be a deal! I'll let you live here... if you work for me." He beams. "Hmm... live on the streets, with all the souls I want for the taking... or live working for a spoiled rotten brat..." She pretended top actually think about it. "Streets, it is!" She stands up and marches to the door, Alois' face screwing up in anger. "Clauuuude!" He immediately began throwing a fit, upset with her answer. "God, SHUT UP, you baby!!" Hazel shouted, clamping her hands over her ears.
Hazel growled angrily, staring at herself in the mirror. What an AWFUL maid's uniform. Lavender was not one of her favorite colors. She HATED this. "What a child... he should really act more his age..." Hazel thought. Wait, how old WAS Alois? He never said. He had to at least be a young teenager. Regardless, he didn't have to throw a fit. Did he do that to get everything he wanted? She sighed and walked to the door, opening it and being met with his first demon servant, Claude. She glared up at his expressionless face, both quiet for nearly three whole minutes before he finally spoke. "His Highness has asked me to train you in your work." "Oh, joy." "Follow me." He continues, ignoring her remark as he turned and began to make his way down the hall. Hazel grumbled and reluctantly did so, spending the rest of her day learning how to make tea and serve many things to her 'master', how to tend to the garden and clean the silver, and just about everything in between. She hardly retained anything. She didn't care. She HAD to get out of here. If she could find a way to escape, then she could go back to the streets and never look back. The demon would resume her real work obtaining and eating souls, and be careful to never meet the earl Alois Trancy again. Or that other demon whose master also wanted to speak with her. Her life would return to normal. However, every escape attempt thus far was a failure, do to the fact of that butler who refused to let her. She figured Alois must have commanded him to keep an eye on her. This just wouldn't be easy. No way was she staying there.
