Michaelis dropped from the the sky, running towards his brother and his blood covered angel. He dropped to his knees, practically sliding towards her. "What did you do Luciferic!"
Luciferic looked more stunned then Michaelis, the terror in his eyes was authentic. A one minute he had been defending her effortlessly, and she was fighting beside him just as easy. The next she was on the floor, covered in blood and battle wounds.
"Luciferic!! What happened?!" Michaelis wasn't going to take silence as an answer. He wanted, no, needed a reason for her injuries. "Luciferic, you piece of shit, tell me what happened to her!!" Michaelis could hear the anger in his strong voice.
Michaelis traced her body, looking for any sense of life. When he failed to find it, he looked up to Luciferic. Michaelis wasn't just angry anymore, he was broken.
Luciferic felt nothing. He was numb. He had just watched the girl he had taken a great interest be turned into a broken pinata. But Michaelis didn't care how much Luciferic had done to try to protect her, he only cared that Luciferic failed.
"I should have taken her with me." Michaelis said through his teeth as he began to stand up. "I should have kept you in the cage. " He growled closing his eyes, doing his best to fight the urge to rip the wings off of his brothers back and damning his back into the cage he belonged in.
Luciferic knew he had messed up, he knew more than anyone. Luciferic felt the pain worse than Michaelis. He had promised he would keep her safe no matter what; he promised he wouldn't let her be hurt. He had failed her.
Michaelis sat back down, he legs on either side of the girls waist. He lowered his head to her chest, pressing his hear against her heart. The angel knew his face was becoming bloody from her wound, but he needed to hear her grace. He needed to hear the light jingle of a bell, he needed hope; he needed her. Once he heard the sound of her grace attempting to escape her small fragile body he plunged his hand into her chest, gripping her heart. After hesitating, unsure if he would hurt her more that the damage done, he focused his energy on the heart.
Shocked, he pulled back once he felt her pulse increase to an automatically steady beat. Her revival came with loud coughs and the ability to barely stand.
"Michael.. where's Luci?" She asked not seeing the other angel behind her. Michaelis wasnt sure if he was meant to be heartbroken or happy she was alive. The first thing she asked for, wasn't him.
"He's behind you." He spoke with a slight pain in his voice. Maybe Luciferic had won her over, even with failing to keep her safe.
She pulled Michaelis into a hug, thanking him for everything, then turned to Luciferic worried. She made her way over to him as fast as her still injured body could and looked over the tall angel.
"You're bleeding.." She spoke upset. She didn't want to see him hurt anymore that he wanted to see her damaged. He nodded yes, not knowing what to say. "What did you do idiot?" She pulled his shirt higher to see the wound more clearly. "Looks like you got into a serious ninja battle. "
Luciferic smiled, even when the girl was worried she had the cutest sense of humor. "When we got attacked I took a shot that would of killed your body and your grace." Her eyes widened, not liking the sound of him taking a hit that strong.
"Are you okay?!" The worry become more evident by her voice.
"I should be, but I'm happy your back." He worked his arm around her. If she would question why, he would lie and say it was for stability. But she wouldn't ask, because she needed as much as he did. She needed someone to lean on, someone to stand by, someone in general.
