Chapter Three

I've never really been too keen on the idea of being disappointed or rejected. If I joined this "Buddy Project" I'd practically be signing up to be disappointed. I won't win. That's just it and although it was upsetting it was true..."Isn't it?" I sighed and asked my self this for what seemed to be the billionth time. There was only three more days until I could join....

"OHHH CHASITYYY!!~" My peaceful silence was broken by Aj singing, more like screeching, my name.

"Yes?"

"Guess what your best best friend in the whole wide world just did for you!"

"Win me a billion dollars?"

"No, silly! I signed you up for the Buddy Project!" My train of thought had been broken and I zoned out. "Errr....Earth to Chasity?"

"Huh? Oh! Why.. Thank you so SO much, Aj! I really appreciate that!" I know Aj was just trying to be a good friend, and I hadn't even told her about the internal war that I had going on inside of me, and was losing. I should be grateful.

"Well I'm so happy to hear that! I'll be going out with Zack now! Don't miss me too much! Ciao!"

"Hah. Sure thing babe! Ciao!" Once I heard the flat door close, I threw myself onto my bed. I stared at the ceiling and started a whole new war within me. I now had a possible chance of being with Zayn Malik, but so did hundreds of other girls. Who knew if I'd even be paired up with Zayn?! I grabbed my pillow and pushed it against my face, screaming as loud as I could. I hate having high hopes when the chances were so low.

After a long hour of confusing thoughts, I grab my cell and dial up Damian. After the first time we hung out, it was a normal occurrence. We both knew our boundaries when it came to each other. Damian understood that I didn't want to jump into anything since it had been a little while, and I understood that Damian still had feelings for Tanya. Although I have no idea why since she was the Queen of Bitches and I'll explain why.

Tanya dumped Damian so that she could hook up with Jonathan Saeril. Afterwards Tanya wants to make herself look like the victim and accuses Damian of breaking up with her first and hooking up with a blonde from her Biology class. It's complicated, I know. Not only this, but now Tanya keeps sending Damian photos of her with multiple guys, only to delete them and say that she misses him. She's confusing him to the very end of time and back, so he can't even sort out his feelings properly. Besides all these things, I accepted and respect his boundary.

"Hello?" Damian's smooth voice fills my ears and I feel a sense of comfort.

"Hey, Damian. Wanna meet up? I'm craving something from BBQs!"

"That sounds great. I'll meet you!"

When we went to eat lunch I explained my dilemma to Damian.

"Chasity, darling, stop throwing yourself into the dumps. You have no idea what the future might possibly hold for you. Enjoy the feeling of that. Live for now. Not before. Not for what's ahead. Stop with the what ifs! Be happy with now." My cheeks felt like they were going to burn right off. Damian was so right.

"Wow. Damian..I - Thank you."

"Anytime."

Three days had gone by and the moment of truth was going to be revealed today. The female, and few male, students that had signed up for the event filled the auditorium. The outside of Oxford was filled with girls that didn't even attend Oxford, and had just heard about One Direction's arrival.

It was rather cool day in London, but the auditorium was hot and moist from the amount of body heat filling up the space.

All of a sudden, blood curdling screams were heard and my dean stepped onto stage, followed by the five boys of One Direction.

The doors of the auditorium were closed and the dean picked up the microphone.

"Welcome ladies....and ah gentleman. Today is the day when we reveal the five lucky people that will be getting to have their college experience with a member of One Direction. Shall we start?"

The dean was a immediately answered by everyone, including me, saying "Yes!" in unison.

The dean pulled out an envelope and proceeded to take a piece of paper out of it. "Now when I call your name, I want you to walk up to stage." I glanced over to the still silent boys of One Direction. They all glanced at each other and were smiling like fools.

"Let's begin with Louis Tomlinson. Louis Tomlinson, you will be paired up with Sierra Lynn."

After a few minutes, a shy looking, raven haired girl walked up on stage. Louis shook her hand and she looked up and smiled. She looked happy.

"Niall Horan, you will spend your time with Ana Ceralina." Ana was a ginger with what seemed to be a very edgy, yet innocent style.

"Harry Styles, enjoy college with Gadalya Edwards." Gadalya, a brunette, walked onto stage looking like she would puke any second but looked fun and adorable.

"Liam Payne, we hope you have a memorable experience with Emily Paige." Emily, also a brunette, looked white as a sheet, but when Liam shook her hand and stared into her eyes she returned to her healthy color, and looked very pretty.

"Now. Zayn Malik," My breathe hitched and my heart pumped faster. Oh goodness I hope it's me, I thought to myself, "The girl who has the honor of being with you through college is.... Chasity Jones."
