Getting off the planes was a pain in the ass. First my aunt blamed the airline for losing her luggage, so we had to wait like an hour for them to find it. It was under her seat the whole FUCKING time. I have to admit though, I did enjoy having to cut some time out of our trip. I was not looking forward to meeting my dad's new wife's kids. (Or you could call them my step-siblings). I wonder what they'll be like. Will they be nice, or will they be stuck up and pain in the asses? These are questions that will soon be answered.
So, it took like another hour cause our cab driver was late. My aunt was mad about that. I again, liked the time to myself. When we arrived at the house it brought back some nice memories. I remembered how my mom and I would come here every christmas when I was younger. Of couse I always got gay stuff like clothes and barbies, whose faces I later melted. Those were the good ol' days. When my aunt rang the doorbell, I shivered a little.
"What's wrong? Scared about meeting your new family?"
"Yeah, a little."
"Ha! Pussy."
Right when I was gonna call her a bitch my grandma answered.
"Skylar! Oh my, look how big you've gotten!"
"Yup, I have."
"Hello mother..."
"Oh Malinda, I haven't seen you since you left your last infant baby on my doorstep."
WOW. That was freakin' hilarious. I wanted to burst out laughing, but that would've been very inappropriate. I could tell my grandma didn't want anything to do with my aunt.
"Thanks for bringing back bad memories, mother!"
As my aunt stormed off, I could hear her call my grandma a bitch. Huh, maybe being here wont be so bad. At least I wont have to deal with my aunt.
"Well, don't stand out there all day, come in!"
"Okay."
As I walked in I saw my grandpa came down the stairs opening his arms to hug me.
"Well, I haven't seen you in a long while."
"Yup, it has been a long time."
"Well you're here now and that's the way it's gonna stay! That is until you're 18 of course."
That definently made me better (not really). I already had a room at their house so it's not like I didn't know where I was sleeping. While my grandpa carried my bags to my room my grandma grabbed a key from her drawer.
"What's that for?"
"Oh well, since you were away for so long, I didn't want anything to happen to your room in case you ever decided to come back. So I put a lock on your door to keep people out. Lily, especially, likes to go through people's thing."
"Oh."
So after my grandma unlocked the padlock that was attached to my door, my grandpa dropped my bags on the bed. Right when they were about to leave I asked:
"Hey grandma?"
"Yes?"
"Where are Gabe and Lily?"
"Oh well, I knew it would've been pretty hard for you to meet your new step-siblings, so I sent them down to the beach."
"Oh thanks, I don't think I would've been strong enough to put myself through that right now."
"I know. Now you get settled in."
I then started pulling my clothes out of my duffle bag. I opened my closet and I couldn't believe my eyes. Hanging in front of me was the cutest thing ever. It was a sleeveless cookie monster pullover my mother had gotten for me the christmas of the year she died. I had been looking all over my aun'ts house for it. I freaking love that thing. I decided since I finally found it, I had to go out in public in it. So I took a shower and put on a very thin, light grey, long-sleeved shirt and black skinnys. Then I put on my all black converse. Afterwards, I combed through my short hair, which was black as coal, and put on the pullover. Since it was sleeveless, you could see my gray shirt. That was the cutest part about it. For some reason my cheecks were a light pink. That added a nice touch to my apperance. Maybe now, people wont think i'm emo.
I grabbed an umbrella (you know, the kind you use at the beach). When I opened the front door, I was greeted by the sight of my grandparents sitting on the porch, sipping lemonade.
"Oh Skylar! You look adorable!"
"Thanks."
"Where are you headed off to?"
"I was going to the beach."
"Oh, well make sure when you get there you tell the staff your grandfather and I will be there soon to help restock inventory."
"Why, do you work for the beach's club owners?"
"Oh Skylar! We are the club owners!"
Oh shit. That's something I didn't know. My grandparents pretty much own the beach. Wow. Okay then. It was a long walk and the sun was blazing hot, so I just put the hood to my pullover on my head. The best part of my pullover was that cookie monster's face was the hood. Isn't that great? Anyways, when I arrived at the beach I could tell everyone's eyes were on me. I didn't care. I was to busy texting Sydney.
Syd: What are you doing? :D
Me: Nothing, just hanging out at the beach.
Syd: Lucky! My mom is making me help her clean the house. SO BORED!!! XP
Me: Glad to see you're enjoying yourself.
Syd: -_-
Me: Well, i'll text you later cause i don't feel like doing it right now.
Syd: Tonight! Text me tonight!
Me: Fine. -____-
After that I just stared out to sea. It was nice and peaceful, until a whole gang of teens came and started being loud and obnoxious.
