Chapter six

Hour later

Maddie's POV

All of us were in the yard having a little lunch like hot dogs and hamburgers. Gino had his arm around my shoulder and me leaning on him a little. I felt a vibration on my butt. I moved Gino's arm and rested it on his lap. I pulled my phone out of my back pocket while I picked up my hot dog. Once I read the text I dropped my hot dog and ran away in the house then laying on the bed gino and I share and I started crying my eyes out. I opened the door to the balcony that was in our room and walked on it. I felt hand go around my waist and kiss my cheek. I turned around and hugged gino. I started crying into his chest gripping my hands on his shirt. He rubbed my back kissing my head. What's wrong he said. K-kn-kni-knife gr-gran-grandm-grandma I choked out.

Gino's POV

I didn't really understand her. I picked her up and set her on the bed. I walked to the balcony door and shut it and also the room door then sat down. I leaned against the back board then pulled maddie onto my lap.she put her head on my shoulder breathing heavily. Calm down I whispered in her ear. She slowly steadied her breathing back to normal. I'm gonna start crying with you if you don't stop I said rubbing her back. She calmed down and she rested on me. What happened i asked. She threw me her phone and I unlocked it. Her message screen popped up. I read the message and it was from her mom. It read I'm driving to miami to stay with you until tomorrow cuz I don't know how you will react. Then maddie wrote what r u talking about. Then her mom replied ur grandma got stabbed in the neck but maddie didn't reply back. I wrote when are you coming. She wrote back in 5 minutes. Maddie got up took her phone from my hand and left the room

Maddie's POV

I went into the guest room and blasted out cry my old solo. I started dancing and kept doing the dance over and over.

Gino's POV

I opened the door and I saw her doing turns and she landed facing towards me. When she saw me she continued dancing pretending i was not there. Really mads I said. She kept dancing not listening to me. Are you seriously having the " maddie mood " I said. She kept on dancing. I paused the music making her look at me. She continued dancing with no music completely ignoring me. Baby you can't just dance away what happened i said making her stop. Abby taught me how to dance my problems away just ignore the world. But maddie you can't ignore the world when they did nothing wrong I said sitting down next to her. I'm sorry ok I've never experienced something like this she said tearing up. I put my arm around her making her lean on me. Baby it's fine I had experienced it with my mom when I was 9 I couldn't do anything about it I said. She sighed. But just remember " everything happens for a reason " I said. I heard the doorbell ring. I picked maddie up making her legs wrap around my torso as I made my way down the stairs. I opened the door and Melissa was standing outside with her suitcase. I leaned in and gave her a small hug when I pulled back i rubbed Maddie's back. How has she been Melissa said combing Maddie's hair win her hand. She's fine she went into a maddie mood and cried but I calmed her down a little i said while maddie silently cried in my neck. Come in I said moving out of the way. What's a maddie mood she said coming in. Oh um it's um it's when maddie gets in a mood when she doesn't want to be bothered by anyone and she just dances I explained. Where is she I heard Kevin and brooke say. Who I said. They looked at me and brooke said there. Kevin walked towards me and took maddie from my hands. Hey sweetie whats wrong Kevin asked. Let me show you to your room I sad getting her suitcase. No I got it melissa said. It's fine I said bringing her up to the room maddie was dancing in. I open the door and I hear Maddie's music playing. I thought I turned it off. Well here's your room I said setting her suitcase down and grabbing her phone to turn off the music. So how are you and maddie she said. Better than ever I just hope I'm doing enough for her I said honestly. You know gino I love you a lot cuz your a nice guy but let me give you one tip she said. I'm all ears I said smiling showing off my purple braces. Yea purple I got them for maddie cuz that's her favorite color. You don't buy love , you earn it and you young man deserve it. I smiled hugging Melissa. She was like my mom since I don't have one. If you need anything come to me ok I said. Ok thanks so much. I nodded my head leaving the room and went down stairs. Maddie was crying in Brooke's arms. I walked over to her and took her from brooke and they went back outside. I sat down on the couch with maddie on my stomach. I put my legs up so she could use them as a back rest. Maddie I said wiping her tears away. Remember everything happens for a reason. I know. You may not like it but your gonna get used to it. If I could i would ask for my mom back to meet what a wonderful girlfriend I have I said making her smile. There's a little smile I said stroking her hand with my thumb. I know it's hard your gonna think about her 24/7 I know cuz I do it too. But there's something always good in the end. Remember in the end everything will be ok , if its not ok , then it's not the end. She smiled leaning down to hug me.
