Chapter Four

Jade

Sebastian lightly knocks on the door to Alex and Jade's room, causing the un-expecting Jade to jump off her bed holding the book she was reading over her head ready strike who ever was outside the door.

"Miss Jade, I have escorted Miss Alex so may I?" Jade in lighting speed gets back on her bed and opens her book once more.

"Yes you may." Sebastian opens the door and bids a goodnight to the young woman and with that the door shuts. Alex exhaustedly walks to her bed as if she's drunk and about to pass out. She utters a small "Goodnight", but pretends to be out cold. Alex now silently watches as Suki happily bounds to Jade's side and lick her hand. The young maid now has a small grin plastered to her face, making her cold and harsh front melt away to a side that Alex thought she was imagining.

"Why hello there." Jade continues to pet Suki as he plops down onto her lap and begins licking her cheek. The short white haired maid giggles, setting her book down she lightly pushes Suki back to her lap, causing him to bite her hand playfully.

"Your so cute!" Alex decides that she's had enough watching the maid's true personality unfold and sat up abruptly.

"I couldn't sleep! So do you like Suki?" Jade stops what she's doing, her face becomes flustered.

"You!" How could I let a stranger no wait an annoying girl see me like this?! No! She can't know! Not now anyways!!!"

"Were you watching the whole time?" The slight irritation suddenly disappears from the maid.

"Maybe." Alex responds cheerfully.

"Never Mind that. Also I do like Suki." Jade carefully picks up Suki and makes her way to Alex, she sets Suki down gently. She then gets back in bed, but covers herself with the sheets and blows out the candle on her bedside table muttering Goodnight.

Alex does the same and lies down, as Jade can guess from the shuffling and the sudden darkness. With her back to Alex, she doesn't move until she hears soft snoring. Jade turns around to see the shadowed shinigami that she tends to summon and talk to at night, but instead she pulls out her own shinigami scythe and uses it to make her summon return to the sword like scythe (Note: it's the only one that is a scythe out of the swords in the pic above.) then hunkers down into bed and drifts away. Jade awakes to the bright light filtering through the window with extreme intensity, her hand instinctively goes to cover her eyes from the light. Mey-Rin's voice can be heard outside and Finny's voice can be heard giggling.

"Plu-Plu!" Glancing out the window the maid sees the others playing in the yard with Pluto, who's at the moment a demon wolf. How much louder can they be?! While the other maid and gardener's backs' are to the window, Jade pops open her window and jumps down from the second story to the well mowed yard. She silently wanders over to the others, but is soon found out by Pluto, who reruns to his human form and tackles Jade in loving licks.

"Haha alright I get it! Now off." Pluto jumps off Jade and sits intently. Jade pulls out a dog treat, that she had gotten from the Undertaker some time ago before Alex arrived to the manor. Tossing it into the air Pluto goes after the treat and while doing so returns to his demon form. Sebastian soon comes into sight, Pluto comes at full speed and plops down into a sitting position staring straight at him, tail wagging. As Sebastian hides his disgust of the creature, Jade can't help but laugh at his reaction, but soon stops and gets serious.

"Miss Jade, We have some duties with the Undertaker today to help solve another murder for the Queen." Finny and Mey-Rin run off after Pluto, who's now chasing a squirrel, despite the distraction Jade keeps her composure and irritation from bubbling over at the others for being loud.

"Wait I thought we- I mean I, have to train Alex...."

"The young master had insisted that you come along as usual and made a special exception for Miss Alex to join, but since she just arrived her we decided she should stay here to get to know the others and explore the manor." Grrreeeaaatttt now we're going to have the goof-balls and the miss-sassy-I-refuse-help-girl wandering around the manor and Alex snooping around our room and finding my scythe!!! Nononono! Stay calm.

"Sounds like a fine idea." Her tone and voice dripping with sarcasm and irritation.

"You know Jade, Miss Alex is actually quite a kind young lady and I think this is a chance for you to get to know some one and gain possibly a soul in the end. "

"I only want their memories remember not their souls like you demons, but your right.. I should come out of my shell more and not just around you, Ciel, or the Undertaker..."
