"Then we married and went on our honeymoon and......"
"But does Joe know your arrangements?" Mum giggles, whilst butting into mine and Rose's conversation. Rose smiles at me. I obnoxiously tut. Mum knows how to ruin the fun out of things.
"Cheer up, Mia. There are plenty more fish in the sea," mum teased. I glowered at her. Rose laughs. "Yeah Mia!"
I turn to Rose and narrow my eyes at her. "At least Joe's single. Alfie is already taken by Zoe," I tease Rose.
"Now girls," mum says.
"You started it!" I shout.
"Oh my," mum replies. "I should've kept my mouth shut."
"You better make a mental note of that," I say, cheekily.
Mum puts the last plate that she washed onto the drying rack. She dries her hands with the dish towel then leaves the kitchen, leaving me and Rose alone.
"Your mum has a good sense of humour," Rose tells me.
"You've just noticed," I say with a cheeky tone. Rose ignores my cheekiness so there isn't any arguments.
Rose checks her phone to see if there's any gossip. I look out the window. There's a small breeze jabbing at the trees.
"Oh my god!" Rose gasps.
"What?" I ask, disturbed.
"Alfie and Zoe are getting married!" Rose shouts.
"Aw cuties," I say. Rose gives me an annoyed expression.
"But you and Alfie would be cuter," I say.
"Would be? You mean, are cuter," Rose 'corrects' me. Ugh. She can be such a moody snob sometimes.
"I'm so happy for them though," I continue to say, completely ignoring Rose's snobby comments.
"Yeah, I suppose," she sighs.
What's the big deal anyway? It's not like Alfie's gonna dump Zoe just for her.
Mum walks back into the kitchen.
"Alfie and Zoe are getting married!" Rose tells mum as soon as she walks in.
"Aww, I'm happy for them. Never mind, there are plenty more fish in the sea," mum tells Rose.
I gave Rose a cheeky smile as I rest my head on my hand. Rose tuts and rolls her eyes.

I walk into school to see Samantha, the school slut and her crew. They all walk towards our form class like they're models and everyone's staring at them. When they pass a group of boys who are staring Samantha flicks her hair and one of the boys whistle to them.
"Those bitches," Rose quietly says to me. "Honestly. How does Samantha do it? How does she get all the boys going out with her?"
"I don't know, but she sure could spill her little secret to us," I joke.
"Yeah," Rose replies. "I sure would like a boyfriend."
"I'll easily get you....."
"Nope!" Rose cuts me off, raising her hand. "Don't even bother."
"Ok," I shrug. "I could have though, if you wanted me too."
"But I don't, so let's change the conversation."
"Ok," I say.
Whenever we're talking about boyfriends, other than celebrities or YouTubers, Rose always wants to change the subject quickly. But she always gives away little hints that she wants a boyfriend, but when I try and get involved, that's mostly when she changes the subject. It's gets a little bit annoying and suspicious.
