The Accident

I was on the way home from Anna's house, we were working on a chemistry project, typical, because on the night my life was ruined I was studying of all things. I drove myself of course, because there were two aspects of my life that my parents let me control: my driving (mainly because I followed all of the rules, and didn't get in any trouble) and track.

She was my best friend, mainly because she didn't think I was the nerdiest kid alive (everyone else did though, including me). We did everything together, even study for the classes that we hate the most, so it actually did make sense that I was driving home from her house, although I wish we were doing something a little less nerdy than studying.

I remember thinking that I needed to study again before that test, but unfortunately a Chemistry test was about to be the least of my problems.

I arrived at the four-way stop that you get to as you leave or enter town. Anna lives in town, and is the "social butterfly". I live in the middle of nowhere, so I was always kind of her "tag-along" best friend.

I stopped like I was supposed to, but no one was there, or so I thought. I proceeded to turn left, but then I saw the car.

By that time it was too late, and I felt my entire body jolt forward as my car made impact on the other. Then I don't remember anything else.

I know that's not the interesting story that I made it out to be, there was no ringing in my ears like in the movies, I don't think I dramatically passed out, and it definitely didn't hurt.

So why am I telling you that? I think it was supposed to be "normal." I think that's how I was supposed to die.

But I didn't, and that's where things went wrong.
