It was them.
I could tell because of their eyes, they were black.
I looked up at my mum in horror. She was as scared as I was.
We all just stood there for a few seconds, looking at each other when finally my mum told me to run.
"Run Isabelle! Get out of here!"
"No mum! What about you?"
"It's ok darling, I'll hold them off."
"No! I'm not leaving without you!" I was crying.
She turned and looked at me. I could see tears in her eyes.
"You need to go."
"But.."
"Trust me, I'll be ok."
I stood there, I could feel my heart racing.
"Okay." I said
Then I turned around and started running toward the fire escape.
I could hear things crashing behind me, but I didn't dare look back.
When I got to the window I tried to open it but it was stuck. I didn't have much time so I looked around for something to smash it oped with. I saw the lamp on the desk, picked it up and threw it at the window.
It smashed.
Carefully, I climbed through trying not to get cut.
I quickly looked behind me, just in time to see one of the seekers pull a knife out from his belt and stab my mum in the chest.
