Fighting It

Chapter 15

The day was going by without any other problems. When I got into art class I went right to my table to restart my painting. When I got there Max was starting to walk over to me. I rolled my eyes and ignored him. When he still didn't leave my side I turned to him and asked, "What the fuck do you want?"
He looked a little taken back but said, "Look you have every right to be mad, Fay was a bitch to you early, okay, I just wanted to apologize."
"Did you know I was who I was all along?" I asked.
"I had an idea since David had you sit near me and Fay, but I didn't know for sure that your dad was that alpha," Max explained.
"So, this David and Mike? They part of your pack too?" I questioned.
"Yeah, a lot of people in the school are apart of our pack. Wait how do you know Mike?" he asked.
"I was called down to the office to show Conner around the school, I met the principle, oh and Conner is our new gym teacher," I explained.
"Ah, thanks for the heads up," he said, "So I really like you as a person, you think we could be friends," he asked rubbing the back of his neck.
I smiled and said, "I don't know, I've never had a friend before."
"Well,  I'd be honored to be your first friend and show you the ways of friendship," He smiled winking.
"Okay, as long as I don't have to be friends with Fay," I reason.
"And put you through that torture," he said faking being appalled, "What kind of friend would I be?" He said.
"A terrible one," I said going along with his sarcasm, "Hey why do you-" I was cut off by the bell.
"Hey, here's my number," said giving me a piece of paper, "Text me later alright?"
"Yeah, I'll talk to you later," I said.

After school I drove my car to the pack mansion with Conner annoyingly close behind.
"Really?!?" I say getting out of my car when we get home.
"What?" He asks.
"You had to be that close behind the whole time?" I complained.
"Just making sure you couldn't get away baby," he said.
"Ugh!" I scream walking into the mansion and going to our room to start homework.

When I was done homework I decided to text Max.
Selena: Hey Max, it' s me Selena
Max: Hey chica, How's the life?
Selena: The life is good. Hbu?
Max: The life is good as well.
Max: So, do ya miss me yet? 😉
Selena: Why of course I don't know how I've survived this long without you ❤️
Max: Well don't tell lover wolf  that, he might kill me
Selena: Don't go around giving me ideas now 😈
Max: You wouldn't dare. You'd be stuck in homeroom alone with Fay!
Selena: This is true, I think I'll allow you to live well for today anyways 😉
Selena: How did you end up with Fay anyways? And why are you so nice to her when she's just a bitch?
Max: Well, when I was little my parents were killed by rouges so after they died I moved in with Fay and her family so I have to be a good kid or they'll kick me out.
Selena: Oh my god Max, I'm soooo sorry! 💔
Selena: If you ever need a place to stay or want to move out you I know a place you can stay
Max: Thanks for the offer but I'm good, at least for now.

"Who are you talking to?" asked my mate looking over my shoulder.
"No one," I say closing my phone.
"Give me your phone," he said holding out his hand.
"Here's a word you've never heard before, NO!" I say standing up to walk away.
"Selena give m-" he was cut off by an alarm going off.
BEEP BEEP BEEP
"What is that!" I yelled I've the alarm.
"C'mon," yelled Conner grabbing my hand and pulling me out of our room and walking towards the basement. When we got there he let go of my hand saying, "Stay here and do not leave, if you do leave there will be serious consequences!" He told me sternly.
Before he could leave I grabbed his hand asking, "Wait what's going on?"
"Rouges" we're all he said before running away to join the fight outside.
