Labyrinth Fanfiction, "A tale of Two"

Chapter 44-

Me and Jareth hadn't been walking for very long but it felt like we'd been walking forever. You see Jareth had set out the Labyrinth to play tricks on potential runners. Walls and doors would appear from nowhere. The Labyrinth's layout was like a never ending maze. That was it's purpose, so it would through  runners off.... however I was an exception. I accepted his challenge and in the end won.

Jareth was in front of me, focusing his attention fully on finding the source. I followed him closely behind. We hadn't spoken for a while now and I was wondering why Jareth was so quiet.

I ran up to Jareth and grabbed his hand. He immediately stopped walking and turned to face me.

"Jareth, your very quiet, what's on your mind?"

"I just want to find the God damn source! I'm nobody without my powers"

I frowned, I hated Jareth speaking like this. He wasn't himself at all.

I grabbed both Jareth's hands and guided him over to sit down on a nearby delapalated wall.

"Listen Jareth, don't ever talk like that. You will always be someone with or without your powers. To me your the all mighty Goblin King. No matter what happens you will forever be the King of the underground, ruler of Goblins but most of all the man I love"

I watch him intently. He then places both his hands on my cheeks and kisses me lightly on the forehead.

"Has anyone ever told you Precious that you have a way with words?"

"Many times" I say sarcastically trying to lighten the mood.

Jareth just raises him eyebrow and gets up from where he's sitting.

"Come along Love. Not long left to go, then we can stop and make camp for the night. Then continue the rest of the journey tomorrow morning"

I look up at him. He has his hand held out and I take it. We then set off again.
