Chapter 1
Walking down the hall, I was wearing my usual---baggy clothes and nerd glasses.
I may have been bullied from time to time, but nothing that I couldn’t handle. It’s their problems, just because someone acts shy, doesn’t mean they don’t fight back. Besides, wearing loose clothes hide my hourglass figure, which is something they don’t have to know.
“Well, if it isn’t my favorite nerd, Katelyn,” Tyler, sneered beside me, smirking.
“What do you want, asshole?” I gritted out, annoyed.
Let me just fill you in on why I don’t like Tyler Henderson so much.
First of, he’s the school’s number one playboy, which means bad news to me. I don’t need people’s noses at my business. Secondly, he keeps pestering me when he has the time of the day. Like, doesn’t he have something more important to do, like screwing girls? Thirdly, people worship the ground he walks in like he’s some sort of god. Pathetic, right? And lastly, he keeps following me wherever I go. I told him once to back off but the guy’s IQ must be the size of a pea since he couldn’t take the hint.
“My, my,” he mocked. “Did I just hear the nerd say a baaadddd woooorrrrd?”
“Yeah, so what?” I was restraining my anger.
Lately, my life has been stressful and I didn’t need the stress he was giving me.
“Oh, I don’t know. I mean, if you wanted to say a bad word, you should’ve went with something more… powerful.”
Powerful. POWERFUL?!
I’ll show him powerful.
“Listen here, you ass. I am not in the mood for your childish demeanor, so would you just back off and piss off someone else.” I all but shouted at his face, causing for the people in the hallway to flicker their attentions at us.
Tyler just stared at me, looking stunned.
I smiled, satisfied with my sudden outburst.
As I was walking away, I heard the unmistakable laughther of Tyler.
Sighing heavily, I just ignored him.
“Hey, wait up,” Tyler said as he caught up with me.
“What now?” I said, angrily.
“Nothing. I just thought of congratulating you, Kitty Cat,” he smirked.
“Whatev--- Hey, what did you just call me?” I snarled.
“Kitty Cat,” he said, proudly.
I raised my eyebrow at him.
“You know… Because your outburst back there made you look like a small cat hissing,” he explained, as if it was logical.
I huffed at him, quickening my pace and entering my next class.

“Mom, I’m home,” I yelled out while entering the door.
When no one answered, I called my mom’s name again.
Still, nothing.
Huh, where could she be?
As I was walking towards the refrigerator, I saw a pink sticky note on top the counter.
Picking it up, I read it:
Went grocery shopping. Will be back by 6.
Love, Mom ♥
