CHAPTER 4

Hi everybody, couldn't resist posting again! Woop woop!

-------

SIMON'S POV:

I can't believe Dakota did this.

I've know her for most of my life and she does this to me.

I love her. I see she doesn't love me back.

I run back to my tent crying.

Why would she do this?

She kissed a man she's known for half a day?

Damn it.

My head was swirling with questions and my eyes streamed.

I looked over to a gun I had hidden.

DAKOTA'S POV:

His lips were so soft.

The kiss was so intense.

I've never felt so close to a person.

In fact, I've never been that close to a person.

I needed him.

It was like a drug.

I see what people mean about it now.

I lay in the dark thinking.

My thoughts slipped away from me and before I knew it I was dreaming.

Dreaming about Daryl and crossbows and squirrels.

I was awoken by the sound of a gunshot.

Damnit. I was having such a good dream.

I unzipped my tent and looked across the field.

Daryl was running towards me.

"Walkers." He said.

That's all in needed to hear.

I ran to find Simon with two hands on a revolver, a Biter splattered on the ground.

" goddamnit, Simon, what where you thinking?" I shouted, " you'll attract more of the fucking creatures with that flaming gun!" I flailed my arms in the air.

He looked over to me and broke down to his knees.

I went and sat next to him, Daryl looking at us both awkwardly.

I asked Simon what was wrong with him.

He looked me in the eyes.

Then at Daryl, then back at me.

" oh. You saw?" I asked Simon even though I didn't need the answer.

I let him sit the in my arms for another few minutes before I stood up and walked over to Daryl.

We both walked together to my tent.

He stood there awkwardly.

" Dakota, about earlier. I'm sorry. " he said, his hands in his pockets.

"Don't be." I said, " I enjoyed it. " I winked at him then zipped up my tent.

DARYL'S POV:

I walked back to my camp and stomped the fire out until just the glimmering embers were left.

I remembered Dakota's eyes just before we had kissed, they were seductive and sexy.

I wanted to kiss her again but I didn't have the guts.

Why did I kiss her in the first place?

Why did she kiss me in the first place?

I sighed and unzipped my tent.

Inside, I lay on my bed and stared at the top of the tent, listening to the trees moving together in the breeze.

It was a relaxing sound.

Was it the trees?

It sounded like someone or something was groping at the side of the tent.

I grabbed my crossbow and unzipped the tent fractionally.

What I saw was definitely not what I was expecting.
