"Lacey!" James Parker yells up the stairs to his daughter. He was just about to leave the house to meet his future wife so they could look at wedding venues but when he opened the door he came face to face with two girls waiting at the door. "There's some lovely young ladies here asking for you!"

"Coming!" Lacey comes bounding down the stairs and lands next to her father on the front door mat. "Oh Hi guys! I wasn't expecting you!" She looks over the heads of Isabelle and Clary to spot Izzy's car. Simon and Jace stood on her Lawn and Alec leaning on the bonnet of the car.

"Hey sweetie, I'm gonna be late so lock up when your done okay?"

"Sure dad." She smiles. Once he was gone Isabelle claps.

"Come on we're going on a road trip!" She cheers pulling on Lacey's arm.

"What?"

"Clary and Izzy want to go get dresses for the wedding from a store 2 hours away." Jace explains. "So we're going today. We know you are free and won't be free again for another 2 weeks."

"Okay hang on." Lacey tells them before dissapering into her kitchen. She grabs her keys and phone as well as her purse before leaving the house and locking the door. "Lets go!"

The group cheer and make their way to the car. "You're sitting in the passenger seat next to Alec." Clary informs her friend before climbing into the back next to Izzy. Lacey shrugs and climbs in next to Alec who was apparently driving his sisters car today.

"Hey Dork." The short girl grins as she buckles her seatbelt and slams the door shut.

"Hey Lacey." He smiles before reversing the car out of her driveway.

About an hour into the journey Alec pulls over into a gas station so the group could stretch and also more importantly he could fill the car with gas. "I'll pay." Lacey smiles climbing out of the car at the same time as Alec does to fill the car up. She skips over to the little shop and lets herself inside. There was only 3 other people inside including a blonde boy who was watching her as if she was some angel. Lacey shakes her head and walks up to the counter. "Hey, can I pay for the gas for bay 3?"

"Yep, 20 Dollars." She hands over the money and then turns around again to leave only to be stopped by the blonde boy near the door.

"Can I help you?"

"I'm Russell."

"Nice to meet you, Russell. Now I really must be going. My friends are waiting." Lacey says before stepping around him.

"Want to go on a date?"

"Erm..." She turns to face him again this time with confusion. "No thanks. I don't even know you.  And you for sure don't know me. Sorry." With that she walks away and climbs back into the vehicle her friends were waiting inside of.

"Everything go okay? You were a while." Simon says from the back of the car.

"What?" The girl asks before realising what he was talking about. "Oh. Some guy asked me on a date." She tells the group as if it was nothing.

Alec could feel his hands tightening around the steering wheel as he stared ahead. He had no idea why he was so mad about it but he guessed he was just protective over his friend.

"I turned him down politely." Lacey adds putting her seat belt back on. "After all, I don't need a guy when I have Alexander here." She chuckles and Alec finds himself smiling at the girl before pulling out of the gas station and continuing on their journey.

"Is blue my colour?"

"Izzy, every colour is your colour." Lacey laughs as she disappears into a changing room to try a dress on. The boys were sat patiently on the sofa of the private changing rooms waiting for the girls to choose a dress. Jace was so excited to be Clary's date for the wedding, he was whipped. And Simon was ecstatic when Izzy said she would be his plus one. Alec just wanted to see Lacey happy.

"Okay I think this is the one." Clary says stepping out from behind her curtain. Lacey sticks her head out to see Clary wearing a gorgeous peach dress that went down to about her knees. It had gold sequin embellishments from he waist upwards and she had paired it with some gold heels.

"Beautiful." Jace smiles planting a kiss on his girlfriends cheek as he pulls her onto his lap.

"Okay my turn!" Isabelle cheers opening the curtain to reveal her stood in a beautiful pale blue bodycon dress that stopped just above the knees. She was looking radiant.

"You look gorgeous Isabelle!" Lacey cheers from were she was hidden behind the curtain. She shuts it properly again before fully zipping  it up at the back and looking in the mirror. It was a plain white dress because she was the bridesmaid and that's what Rosaline had chosen colour wise. It went down to her knees too but the chest area was open slightly to reveal a bit of cleavage. She smiles. It was rare she felt good in a dress and was happy with her choice. "Okay I'm ready!"

"Come on then!" Clary laughs as they all waited in anticipation.

She slides the curtain away slowly before stepping out into the open space. She had paired the dress with white wedge heels so she was slightly taller than usual. Isabelle is the first to react and lunges to pull her friend into a hug. "Oh my gosh you look amazing!" She squeals before letting Clary hug the girl.

"You look great, Lace. Your going to wow the guests." Clary grins standing back to look at her friend again. By now the whole group was stood gathered around Lacey. "You could be one of those goddesses you read about all the time." The redhead jokes.

"Aphrodite." Alec speaks up for the first time since she had left the changing room. He knew now why he had been so mad about that guy at the gas station asking her on a date. He had developed a crush on his best friend. Of course he had. It was hard not to. She was always so happy and positive and she was intelligent and beautiful. He appreciated her in every way possible.

"Goddess of beauty." Lacey smirks walking towards the raven haired boy. The heels helped her a little so now she wasn't so short compared to him. "You do know how to flatter a girl." Alec found that his heart was racing when she placed her hand on his arm, the skin tingling under her touch. Oh no. He thought, I've fallen for my best friend who doesn't want a relationship at all. 

"Let's get a picture of the princesses." Jace says causing Lacey to pull away and stand next to her two female friends. The blonde male pull out his phone and snaps a nice picture of the three before asking Simon to take on of Clary and himself.

"Right lets get changed again, pay for the dresses and then get a bite t eat." Isabelle grins before closing a curtain behind her so she was now hidden from view.

"Sounds great." Lacey agrees before she too disappeared into a changing room. Alec just stood their watching the space where she had been stood looking so beautiful. Man, he needed help.
