Room Mates (NaLu)

Chapter 18 ~ Fairly Local

Today was a hot day.

Me and Natsu had decided to walk to the local park after passing by the local grocery store to buy food. It was a big park; thriving, green trees peppering the lush field of grass and flowers, a little pond planted in the centre and benches dotted around.

People were spread throughout the park. Children danced around, having water fights or playing little games of tag. Parents sat, talking to eachother about how great the hot weather was, or how their co-worker was once again P'ing them off.

Me and Natsu delved into the natureous world, holding hands. We found a spot of serenity, a little quieter than the main areas of the large park. We placed down the blanket and food. Together we lay on the blanket, head to head, looking up into the sky.

The sun tickled our skin as it shone down through the towering trees. We laughed and joked, pointing at the sky when a cloud passed by shaped like a deformed elephant.

"Hey Natsu?" I asked, breaking the quiet silence we were previously experiencing, lay on our backs looking up.

He turned his head to look at me.

"Yeh?"

"Remember when we met?" I said, looking back up into the sky.

"I was going to open the door of our dorm when you beat me to it." A happy giggled escaped my lips as I reminisced the moment. "Then you told me you weren't interested in me, as I was apparently begging you to sleep with me."

He let out a throaty chuckle.

"Did I really say that?" He laughed, shaking his had as he looked back up to the clear sky.

"That was a funny day. I was so shocked that my room mate was a boy." I carried on, placing my arms behind my head. "I was so confused at lunch, getting so many dirty looks from girls at other tables. They were jealous I was friends with you"

"Well what can I say" Joked Natsu, now propping his head on his elbow to look at me. "Have you see his beautiful face?" He said, gesturing with his free hand to himself.

I laughed once again, gently pushing his arm with my hand, causing him to fall back into his back. Seconds later my body was invaded by tickles. Natsu crouched over me, fingers prodding and pocking at all parts, trying to find my most ticklish areas. I screamed for him to stop, unwillingly laughing loudly as I rolled around on the floor, trying to escape his wild grasp.

"NO Natsu p-AHH-please!" I yelled, swatting my hands in all directs, hoping to eventually make contact with something and stop the violent tickling shooting around my body.

The tickling suddenly stopped as two hands pinned down my arms, stopping my sporadic swatting. I opened my eyes from their shut state.

"Woah! You nearly hit my face there!" Said Natsu, cheekily grinning.

"That's where I was aiming!" I retorted, wiggling a hand from beneath his grasp and patting his cheek softly.

"Oi!" He gasped, lunged forward to tickle me again. This time I rolled away onto the grass, dodging his finicky fingers.

"A HA!" I shouted, pointing at him as he face planted the floor, expecting my body to be there. We both ended up laughing before regaining composure and sitting back together on the blanket. The comfortable silence awoke again. The sounds of tweeting birds and rustling trees cascaded through the air.

"So what do you think of Mavis and Zeref? Do you like them?" I asked Natsu, now calmed down from our random hyperactive surge.

"Yeh, they're really nice!" Replied Natsu, smiling.
